basically, because eric decker is practicing at the jets facility for the super bowl, he'll take a tour of the building and stuff. pretty convenient i guess.
Decker and the rest of the Denver Broncos will get this "visit".. it means nothing, specific anyway for Decker and the Jets.
A Cimini article that twists the title to get readers. This is meaningless crap, doesn't need a thread.
might as well make it a thread about the potential of decker being a Jet regardless of relevance that practicing in the jets backyard has. (probably not a lot) So... decker. Do we want him? he's good. won't be AS good without Peyton, but he's better than anybody on our team right now. I've heard he runs good routes and can make tough grabs. not a lot of game breaking speed or anything though and he's due to be the biggest name on the market so he might get overpaid...
This guy would be foolish to leave Denver. And we would be foolish to throw a big contract at one of Peyton Mannings creations.
No but well surely overpay and he probably can't handle double coverage or #1 CBs. Better to go cheaper with Maclin, Emmanuel Sanders and/or James Jones IMO.
decker would improve the receiving corp but it wouldn't make it any scarier for defenses than it is now. i doubt pete carrol is staying up all night trying to figure out how to stop eric decker. you don't over pay for good and thats all he is
Decker could surely help the WR corp, but at what cost? I think he'll garner more money than he's worth on the FA market. While he has good size, and can run good routes, he benefited greatly from Manning throwing to him, and Thomas lined up on the other side. Throw in the addition of Welker in the slot this year, and Manning's use of the TE, and he never saw double coverage. I think he's a nice complimentary WR. If you pay him to be your biggest play maker you'll end up disappointed.
I would pay Decker 5-6 million for 3 years but realistically a team is probably going to pay him around 5 years 40-50 million which imo is overpaying.
look, if we've learned anything from idzik its that he won't overpay and will let the market figure out his value. all the people that are saying they don't want him are just assuming we are paying him to be a #1 what if we signed eric decker and drafted mike evans? then he'd be a #2 and that's a pretty scary receiving core
Decker is good, and would be a good pick up at the right price, but I agree....you don't over pay for him, and probably will have to after the SB.
Big target, good hands, how can anyone say they don't want this guy. Sign Decker and draft another in the 2nd.
Imma want some Funky Cold Medina. Not sure if an Eric Decker (minus Peyton) is worth what he might command in FA.
GENIUS. You sir should be a GM! $$$$$$$ thats how. he's good at his job but his o field value and the amount he'll get payed for seems...distant.
