Federer has been better than Murray during this tournament, but... Murray leads in the career HTH, 12-9, and most of those matches were during Federer's prime. Murray has won 3 of their last 4 matches overall, and 4 of their last 5 matchups on outdoor hardcourts. Murray has also been better than Federer in this tournament in recent years. The last time Federer even made the finals of the AO was in 2010. Meanwhile, Murray has made the finals of the AO three out of the last four years (and the one year he didn't was in 2012, when he made the semifinals).
It appears ESPN3 is providing replays of the matches. I tested one from tonight just now and it worked. Thus, I'm going to chance it and go to sleep and hope the replay of Federer/Murray is available for me to watch tomorrow.
I got used to the grunting some of these girls do but the WOOOOO! After EVERY single shot was too much. _
Federer! Dimitrov had a good fight against Nadal, but Nadal was too much. I'm expecting Nadal to roll through Federer, but you never know, I'm rooting for Federer
pretty sure they used to start at 3 AM nadal/federer they pushed back to 3:35, so I gave up and tried to go to sleep lay awake until 7:30 when I turned on the noisy space heater and slept for an hour. So almost no sleep and missed the match anyway. I'm surprised it was so lopsided.
I'd be looking to bet against both Nadal and Federer. Too bad they play each other. Both of them are vulnerable. I wish one faced Berdych and one Wawrinka in the semis.
Li Na vs Cibulkova in the women's finals. Stan Wawrinka vs Nadal/Federer in the Australian Open final. Their match will start at around 3:30 AM Friday morning EST if I calculated the time difference correctly
yes all primetime matches are 3:30 AM this year Same last two nights, with Murray/Federer and Berdych/Wawrinka I could be wrong but I thought in past years they did 3 AM instead.
Nadal rolls thorugh Federer. Didn't get to watch any of it, but from what I'm reading it seems like Nadal played his best match of the tournament and was unstoppable from the 2nd set onwards. Gets to play Wawrinka who he has never lost to before
Good stuff. I DVR'ed the Nadal-Federer game and watched it only for 1 hour this morning by fast forwarding. Nadal was unstoppable in the second and third sets. If he wins this tournament, Nadal will become the only player in history to win each Grand Slam at least twice. Big achievement if he can do it. Nadal is 12-0 against Wawrinka so far. But Djoker was 14-0 against Wawrinka before he got defeated by him. It should be a good game. I will DVR the final and watch it Sunday morning with my kids. It should be a good game.
I don't think either played that well. I thought I heard during the Nadal/Dimitrov match that Nadal's hand was considered a pre-existing injury and he couldn't take medical timeouts for it
It would be pretty shocking if Nadal lost, considering Wawrinka has faced Nadal in 26 sets and lost every single one. Nadal was gifted this AO with a ridiculously easy path. He didn't have to face Djokovic or del Potro, hell even Murray or Berdych would've been more of a challenge than what he faced. He owns Federer in majors and Federer is simply not a top 4 player anymore. He rarely beats the top players anymore. And then facing Wawrinka in the finals. Wow.
I agree. He had a lucky draw. But Federer played really nice in this tournament. Some folks even say he was like his old self. That being said, I will try to stay awake and watch Nadal play. I love the guy since the days he was an underdog.
well, here's to hoping Wawrinka at least takes a set. I didn't stay up for any of the matches this year. I just watch the replays on ESPN3 in the morning when I want to.
