I think Serena was like -165 to win the tournament before the match (she was like -1200 to win the match).

According to reporters/her she tweaked something in her back recently, but nbodoy knew until after the match when a reporter brought it up

Sharapova loses today, basically losing a great advantage of having Serena out who I think has had Maria's number for a while now.

Azarenka rolls over Sloane in straight sets. Na Li also cruises easily

Nadal needs an equipment failure break because his shoelace broke. Never saw that before

Men: Federer with the bigger 98 sq. in. frame and Edberg in his camp playing some very solid 'old Fed' type tennis during the fortnight thus far. Dispatched #10th seeded Jo-Wilfred Tsonga in straight sets. Rafa looking a little sketchy 2nd serve-wise and when pulled wide on his backhand on occassion. Not sure his movement is 100% either. No. 2 seed Djoko looking rock solid and remaining prohibitive favorite (imho) to win it all.

Woman: looks like Owen Wilson-nose Vika Azarenka has an open path to the title with Serena and Shriekapova out of it. Shriek's conqueror, Dominika Cibulkova is a muscularly curvy little 5'3" sex-love puppet.

    Djokovic is the clear favorite.

Very impressive win by Federer but I think he'd lose to Nadal or Djokovic.

    men's odds

Odds to win the 2014 ATP Australian Open
    819000 N. Djokovic
    -135

    819001 R. Nadal
    +260

    819002 A. Murray
    +1000

    819003 R. Federer
    +1100

For the women, I think I saw Azarenka was in the -150 to -160 range to win the tournament.

Eugenie Bouchard and Ana Ivanovic, two cute tomatoes just finished with the Canadian cutie pulling off the upset of the Serbian. Bouchard vs. Li Ma in the semis.

I got lucky to watch the final set of the game while preparing kids for school.

    Awesome finish.

Warinka played decent at pressure moments. Kudos to him. He will play Berdych in the semis.

Tomorrow, Nadal plays 22nd ranked Dimitrov while Federer and Murray clashes.

I am pulling for an all Swiss Final but don't think it is gonna happen.

Wow incredible upset. Djokovic had the easy half of the draw too, guess not. If Wawrinka can win the whole thing, he can put a dent in the Murray/Djoker/Nadal/Federer title streak.

Last 40 men's singles titles, only 3 out of the 40 went outside the group above. Safin, Gaudio, and Del Potro.

Too bad. Great match. Stan the man was cramping at 7-all in the 5th but kept hanging in there. Both guys played their tails off and the level of play was high throughout. Good stuff!

Ferrer lost as well so Berdych or Wawrinka will be in the finals. I like Berdych, we'll have to see how Stan "the man" responds after taking out Djokovic. You have to wonder if he'll have a let down.

^^ That's it in a nutshell: can Stan can physically recoup let alone avoid a mental hangover much in the way of Ana Ivanovic after beating Serena and then getting bounced by the #30 seeded little 19-year old Bouchard.

What I want to see is the 'new' and improved Fed and Nadal in the semis. Normally a beatdown given their 22-10 head to head record, but Fed's been a different man during the AO and hasn't had to lug his 32-year old bones around playing long 5-setters either.

(BB, what the hell happened vs. SDSU?)

It will be interesting to see if Fed/Nadal even meet up. Whenever they seem to be on that path recently, one or both of them falter. Federer has the tougher matchup obviously.

Maybe Azarenka was +150 to win the tournament yesterday. Either way, it wasn't what I thought.

    7:00PM 72 Field wins Australian Open -135

    Tue 1/21 73 N.Li wins Australian Open +163
    7:00PM 74 Field wins Australian Open -188

    Tue 1/21 1 R.Nadal wins Australian Open -112
    10:30PM 2 Field wins Australian Open -108
    must play quarterfinal for action
    Tue 1/21 3 A.Murray wins Australian Open +600
    10:30PM 4 Field wins Australian Open -900
    must play quarterfinal for action
    Tue 1/21 5 R.Federer wins Australian Open +508

I like how it sets up for Berdych. I doubt he'll have a better shot at a major.

I just turned the Open on and Azarenka is on, have never seen her play.

Wtf is with her wail on every shot? That is incredibly annoying, literally had to turn it off.

    How is that allowed?

What a weird match. Radwanska wins two sets 6-1 and 6-0 but lost the middle set
