I saw this on twitter, but apparently Belichick went, unprompted tot the media, on a tirade about how Wes Welker deliberately tried to hurt Talib

Keep in mind how small Welker is and his concussion history, idiot

He has a right to whine, I am not saying Welker tried to hurt him but it was another illegal pick play not called. NE can't really whine about pick plays as they use them as much as Denver, I wish they'd actually call them then we wouldn't have plays like this.

What a biotch. Bottom line stop making excuses. Why does nobody ever rip Belichick for his childish antics after losing big games?

fuck belichick. The New England Patriots run more pick plays than anyone in the league. This guy made a legacy based off of pick plays. Now he's upset when he gets a taste of his own medicine? What a fuckin tool

Hahaha, the Patriots homer on another forum was bitching about this after the game.

"If Welker didn't take out Talib..."

"We would have gotten further if 20% of our salary cap wasn't on IR..."

It wouldn't be hard to have an auto-ref call the pick plays.

Have the overhead cam watch the area between the line of scrimmage and 7 yards down field. Let the program map the collisions and picks. Let it throw a robot flag.

This would catch 95% of the picks and it would take them out of the NFL playbook.

Anything that is counter-productive more often than it succeeds is going to go away very quickly.

Most of that stuff is learned behavior in which a player or coaching staff has determined what they can get away with on the margins. Yank those margins out of the game and most of that stuff goes away, leaving a cleaner safer game that is much more marketable.

Bitching about the refs is a part of the game that will never be taken away.

It was a dirty play, that should have been penalized. And of course to that I say...SO what!?!? Welcome to the NFL, where nothing is indisputable, but everything is controversial. There are at least 3 teams on the field every week. If you haven't realized this by now you probably never will.

Yes the player who is small and has to wear a special helmet to protect him from concussions was used to delibrately injure Talib? It was a pick play and Talib got the wrong end of it. I don't think Welker was trying to injure Talib, he set a pick and Talib got hurt.

Granted, the pick/rub play is one of NE's favorites and is a favorite across the league with these top offenses to beat man coverage.

Belichick has a lot of nerve to bitch&moan about this. Welker probably learned that tactic in New England.

It was a pick but I saw two or three of them that game and NE wasn't on the receiving end of all of them.

That is a completely different situation than the play yesterday, that was a screen pass.

The situation doesn't matter. Strickland was our answer to Welker and Belichick didn't like it so he had him taken out.

I could imagine he was really irritated only being up 21-0 at that point so they needed to take out Strickland.

I don't think either hit was called in from the sidelines.

Of course it was an illegal pick play, just like the dozens (hundreds?) Welker ran for New England.

The idea that Welker tried to injure Talib is too idiotic to even consider.

Complaining about this just illustrates once again what a tool Belichick is.

I thought it was a very scrappy and overachieving pick play.

    LOL

He is a very cerebral player. How can it be dirty when he plays the game the right way?
