He could make Cro or Tebow blush in the gym; it's his brain/mental part of the game that keeps destroying him. I don't think even the most die-hard Sanchez haters have any concerns with his physical abilities.
You can drag out any article and supporter of Mark you might find. But there are 10x the number of people who think he's not a good football player. The proof is in the pudding on the field. He never was that good and then he regressed. I don't think he suffered at all from the coaching and his teammates. As a matter of fact an overwhelming number of fans (including on this board) didn't want to fire the head coach (I'm not one of them). He had every chance in the world (over 60 starts). That to me is the overwhelming stat. Nobody should get that many starts when they play so poorly. BOL Mark but adios.
Regarding Sanchez having the physical tools....so did Gholston and we know what that got him. The fact is Nearly every player in the NFL has the tools to succeed, especially those taken in the first 3 rounds...what makes a Successful NFL career is adapting to the mental part of the game. Anyone can succeed when everything is going well, it's how they handle plays that break down or games where things aren't working well that determine the players on field character.
He would just add a needless distraction, it really is time to move on. It's been proven he cannot play in this league. His terrible games are much more common than his great games, if that's the case and you're a quarterback to top it all off, you're not cut out for this league. Period.
Need less distraction? Any QB that is brought in is being brought in to challenge for the starting job. So distraction is such a bullshit excuse. You want a distraction? Don't get thrown off a plane.
I think you could see by today's games if you have a good defense and a Qb who doesn't turn over the ball and can keep possession (move the chains) you can win. First the Jets D has to be more consistent but there is enough talent to win on the D side. But as for the Qb no one presently on the roster has proven they can not turn over the ball. Mark's had 61 plus chances and Geno 16. The jury is out on Geno but Mark. Sayonara. Don't want him back.
I meant administrative side, not on the actual team. Everybody who said Sanchez worked hard was a coach or teammate, both offense and defense. All the naysayers feeding Schein were 'anonymous sources.'
Yeah having playmakers have nothing to do with it. Baldwin Tate Crabtree Boldin Gore Lynch Davis You sir, have no clue
That's because no coach or player on the team (or frankly, anyone associated with the team) is going to badmouth Sanchez on the record while he's on the team and there's still a 0.00001% chance he might be on it next season. Really, they aren't going to badmouth him publicly after he leaves either - when was the last time a player left a team (that wasn't a complete A-hole like T.O. in Philadelphia) where anyone said anything bad about him on the record? It never happens. You want to know why Sanchez stinks? If you watched Hard Knocks, you knew instantly (and it was pointed out as a red flag at the time) ... Sanchez is literally stupid and immature. You can get away with being stupid and immature at some positions in the NFL; if you're a QB and you're stupid and immature, you're gonna have the worst statistics in the league.
Yes Exactly,... for every Rich Gannon there are like 40 other analysts that think sanchez is an awful player. And you hit the nail on the head again with the 60 starts. When a player starts 60 games, and is terrible for 60 games, you can pretty much conclude he is terrible. 6 good playoff games doesnt trump 60 bad regular season games. especially since if sanchez is your starter odds are you arent making the playoffs anyhow.
Great article, thank you for posting. let's also add the comments of the hero of many on this board- Joe Namath: http://www.newsday.com/sports/footb...who-should-be-jets-qb-going-forward-1.6828141 The pats have the best QB of his generation, that's a little unfair to compare mark to him. Not many could win w/ what Brady had this year. Give Mark decent talent and he wins.
How can you even bring the Pats into this when they have HOF qb, and consistency at the offensive coordinator position in like forever? By the way Seahawks receiving core is not that shabby either.
The Seahawks don't have offensive talent outside of QB?!?....I'd take Doug Baldwin,Golden Tate and Percy Harvin over our WR's right now as well as Marshawn Lynch(dreamin) or even their Backup Robert Turbin over Chris Ivory,Bilal Powell And Mike Goodson...The Seahawks offense is Awesome, but their defense is just that much better.
