Yahoo version of the event ports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/jets-quarterback-geno-smith-reportedly-kicked-off-plane-164817930--nfl.html
You sound like a rational poster asking folks to be rational. LOL. Bottom line, he was either on a plane or about to get on a plane and he either left the plane or never got on the plane. He never flew to his intended destination. Irrespective of who was the instigator. That doesn't happen to cool, calm, collected respectful adults. But maybe in your sphere of acquaintances it fucking fucking fuck fuck does. _
if Geno was in the right, why the hell would he choose not to get on the plane and take the flight as he had planned? try to rationalize that. the only reason he would not have been on that plane was because Virgin wouldn't allow him. the only reason why Virgin wouldn't allow him is if he was not following rules. Virgin has zero to gain to unjustifiably kick him off that flight. fuck. ing. stupid.
I don't understand why people are so quick to rush to condemn before we have all the facts out there.
Stop rushing to judgment. There's probably a perfectly good reason why Geno went to the airport with the intention of flying somewhere and ultimately left the airport. Without flying anywhere. _
notice the one's condemning him right now are the one's that have been calling him a bust from day 1. they can't wait for the facts, the facts might not go with their agenda
It's hard to root for some of these guys if they are going to be dumb asses off the field. Esp the Qb who is the guy you entrust your entire team with. And you expect the Qb to be one of the smart guys on the team and even a leader. So Idzik is going to have to talk to him and see what's going on. And evaluate him not only as a player but as a person. How's about not embarrassing the organization. It's part of the job, too esp if you expect to be the starting Qb.
What facts are you waiting for? Is there some evidence that is going to be discovered that supports one side and disputes the other? Of course not. We have the two sides and now it is simply which you believe is the most believable. Was Geno so upset at Virgin for pulling out his ear phones that he refused to fly their airline, even though he paid for the flight and likely had plans based on the flight he anticipated taking? Or would Virgin airlines only kick a passenger off for justified reasons? Common sense pretty much answers this question.
so, he couldn't have been justifiably pissed at the F.A. for the earplug thing, than have the captain take the side of the F.A. he has to work with and decide he didn't want Geno on the plane? it has to be so black and white that there is 1 wrong and 1 right? common sense pretty much answers my questions too
Of course it is possible but even based on that possibility you can't dismiss the starting issue -- why would the attendant have to pull out his ear phones to begin with? Feel free to depend solely on common sense to develop the most rational possibility.
I don't care if geno was sodomizing himself with the phone as long as he throws 25 touchdowns next year. As long as he is staying out of jail and not getting suspended from the NFL - things that have a football impact - he is free to act like any other dumb kid in his 20's as far as I'm concerned.
we will probably never know, but i didn't see enough fact in any article, especially with some many different details from 1 report to the other to come out and say this is all on geno 100%. like many on this board that have been killing him from day 1 have. he could have had the plugs in but the phone off. i have taken off like that with no word from the F.A. about it. i am guessing with the amount of times he flew he could have had no problems with the same scenario on other flights. maybe not but like i said, look at the post history of the people calling him out like it could only be 1 way and it shouldn't surprise you what their responses are. 80% of this thread is agenda driven
I wasn't there but if they asked him 3 times to turn off the cell phone then just do it! It's a safety issue and how spoiled can you be to not turn off an electronic device when you go on an airplane. And Geno has a lot of experience on airplanes as do all professional athletes.
Jstokes the reason I say fuck is because i think youre one of the dumbest posters on this forum. you used to bash me on the draft forum for having an agenda, but it's pretty apparent you have a bigger one. we obviously don't know truly what happened so we can't really comment on it. i understand geno didn't take that same flight to florida, but what's to stop him from taking the next flight to florida? the kid is loaded, he can do what he wants. and let's say you're right and he was a total asshole, who cares? he didn't do anything illegal and in 2 weeks no one will be talking about this. to use this situation as justification to get rid of a QB is absolutely embarrassing and shows youre not a jets fan, but rather a geno hater that cares more about being right then cheering for the team. don't give me that crap in your next post that you've been a jets fan forever and blah blah blah. if you're a true fan then you back your QB, no matter what
