I dont want to take away from the Patriots credit but the inability of the AFC East to challenge the Patriots has a lot to do with their success. They have been able to stack up 5-6 wins just because of the division games alone. This translates into a bi week in the playoffs which has resulted in 1 Super Bowl trip over the last five years. Im not saying they are bad but look at the 49ers for example. Everyone thought the Niners were going to be a powerhouse team yet the Seahawks have built up an absolute machine in the 49ers presence. The Patriots never had to deal with a team like the Seahawks. On one hand you can say the Patriots just own the division but honestly the Jets, Bills, and Dolphins have generally sucked and have never challenged the Patriots.
Brady in = division is not shitty, so never. Look around the league. The reason why Pats are so uniquely consistent is because of consistently weak division. What other team was for so long guaranteed 5 div wins every year?
