We need a playmaker in the worst way possible! I think we need to come away with SAMMY WATKINS. This kid is going to be an absolute star. I don't usually like trading up and spending draft picks but this kid is worth it. He would do wonders for Geno and this offense. Only thing is I think he should be a top 5 pick. Not saying he will go top 5 but I believe he is worth a top 5 pick. I believe in geno and think we need to surround him with playmakers. Sammy Watkins is the answer to getting this offense jump started along with a free agent wideout, Tate/maclin/nicks. Tight end in the 2nd round. I am sick of seeing terrible offense that puts the defense in awful positions and has them on the field for 40 minutes. It's time to invest and go all out on putting together an offense that can put points on te board week in and week out. 2014 Sammy Watkins baby!!!!
Sammy Watkins is a BEAST!!! He is the PLAYMAKER that this offense needs. He may be 6'1 but he plays bigger and he just attacks the ball when it's in the air. He is the unanimous #1 WR in this draft. The JETS have to come out of the draft with three legitimate players on the offensive side of the ball.
I have spent the last couple days looking at all three guys that could fall to us. Watkins, Lee and Evans....and it looks like to me that all three of those guys are pretty special and should be playmakers in the NFL...Lee could almost be a little over looked as of right now... If any of those guys fall to us we should be fine... however we do have picks to trade if Idzik is sold on one of them more than the others... I don't like the Ebron guy yet...looks like a lot of drops for no reason and he can't block. don't want him in the first.
After this game, he may just go in the top 5. We won't be close to sniffing him, unless he does something leading up to the draft that drops his stock.
Yes but for some reason people keep thinking simply adding in a third rounder will get us up to the top ten range to draft him.
I despise giving up draft pick for any one player, having said that this young man is the only player I would consider doing it for in this draft and most others as well.. I have watched this young man since he played Pop Warner thru High school here in SW Fla and we knew he was special even then. He's humble and loves the game and lives to play it. He is a student of the game and gives 150% on every play.. So if I were the Jets here what I would offer to get Mr. Watkins in Green and White, our #1 plus a 3 and 4 and believe me, there is not a Jets fan in the world who would ever regret the trade, once they see him on the field. Mr Idzik make it happen, you want offense, this young man will kill defenses and open up our other weapons.
The problem is it would take more than just a third and a fourth to put ourselves in a position to draft him. It would probably take our first, second, and third to move to 8 and there's no guarantee he even falls that far. Id love to draft him but I doubt it's gonna happen.
He could go to the Rams at 2, Browns at 4, Raiders at 5, Falcons at 6... We have no shot at him. We'd have to pull a Julio Jones, and we are in no position to do that with all of our holes. Trade up for Manziel, now trade up for Watkins? Cmon
We are not going to be able to trade up for Evans let alone Watkins we should just hope Lee falls to us or grab one of the tight ends and go receiver 2nd round.
I dont think Lee is significantly better than any of the WRs that could be available in the 2nd (Cooks, Adams, Benjamin, Matthews, Robinson, Beckham). Im leaning towards Ebron/Amaro in the 1st and then one of the available WR's listed in the 2nd.
