100% agree. Definitely not running ability. But that's knowing how to move the chains in that situation. Has to count for something, maybe even more.
Is it not a good thing that he played bad at the beginning of the season and got better as the season went on? I would be right there with you if he had these good performances in the middle of the season then got back to playing terribly. He played bad 3/4 of the season, but he got progressively better in the last fourth, which is a good thing. Yeah it would of been great of he would of played better earlier, but that's what rookie CBs do in the NFL.
I support Rex Ryan but I facepalmed when he made that comment about Milliner. I was happily surprised.
Ditto, and don't forget he was benched 3 times also, hey I'm glad he picked up his game a bit towards the end of the season but if I had to grade him he would get no higher than a "D". Hopefully, next season he starts out like he ended this season & shows continuous growth and who knows maybe we have another probowl corner in the making.
One of the reasons Rex is coaching the Jets next year is because they had 3 rookies really struggling in Geno, Milliner and Winters and he stuck with all 3 and got better out of them by the end of the season. A coach on a rebuilding team has to be able to weather the downs that come with playing young players and then help them perform. Rex did that.
He didn't even play the first 3 games. Why do people keep saying he was horrible when he wasn't on the field? Stop lying. He only played 13 games and starting about 5-6 games in he began improving each game very slightly. By the last month he had improved substantially. I'm so sick of the disinfo being spread to lie about Jets players. At least be honest with your numbers. Somebody needs to understand about rookies in the NFL at CB before posting this straight garbage. He might have been "terrible" for half of his games, not 90%. I didn't know PFF were a bunch of jets fans. Milliner had no training camp and was forced to play in one of the harshest defenses for CBs to succeed in. Obviously he didn't do well. The fact that he played like one of the best CBs in the league for the last few weeks shows that this guy is for real. He's at least a solid starter
