Tahj Boyd is looking great in the Orange Bowl tonite. Agreed someone the Jets would likely grab in the early rounds if he fell to them.
Boyd has been awful this year. Draft stock has fell more than just about anyone else's. Geno had a better high school and college career and will have a better NFL career. Rather grab someone that will provide competition.
This guy is clearly an idiot just updated his new 2015 mock with the jets still having the #1 pick taking Marcus Mariota. http://walterfootball.com/draft2015charlie.php
With the way Bortles has played over the last month his draft stock has really jumped and I can't see him staying in school. The more QB's coming out the better chance of one of the top 3 WR's dropping to the 18 spot so I am all for it.
Walt has his updated today with the Jets taking Winston with the first pick. Charlie's hasn't been updated since 12/28 and that one has them taking Mariota.
Well it depends how seriously you want to take a mock draft done prior to the previous years draft, FA period and season.
My problem is Walter's excuse in the comment section. "Well the Texans bottomed out after being in the divisional round, same can happen to the Jets" You can say that about EVERY team. I can say that about the Panthers or Eagles or Bengals. That means nothing. I just don't get how he can seriously say the team will be 1st pick bad. Last year when everyone cried murder for how bad we were....we went 6-10 and had the 9th pick.
Oh,I'm all for it too, but if he stays in school, he could very well wind up winning the Heismann Trophy and not only being the 1st QB taken, he could be the first player in the draft taken. This year, he may go top five, but then again, he might fall to the middle or bottom of the first round, maybe even lower.
unless someone special drops to the Jets I really don't want to draft a QB prior to the 3rd round, and based on who I expect to be available at that point I think that currently Zach mettenberger is my choice for competition/developmental QB. High risk high reward pick.
