Remember the whole first home game opponent for the Eagles has won the Superbowl for the last how many years? Chargers snuck in by a miracle field goal miss. Could it be? :O
Falcons last loss has gone on to the Super Bowl 2008: Cardinals beat Falcons in Wildcard, go to Super Bowl 2009: Saints beat Falcons in Week 14, Falcons miss playoffs, Saints go to Super Bowl 2010: Packers beat Falcons in Divisional, go to Super Bowl 2011: Giants beat Falcons in Wildcard, go to Super Bowl 2012: 49ers beat Falcons in NFCCG, go to Super Bowl 2013: Panthers beat Falcons in Week 17, Falcons miss playoffs, ??? Eagles Home Opener: 2009: Saints 2010: Packers 2011: Giants 2012: Ravens 2013: Chargers Also the AFC East has played the Super Bowl team for the last couple years: 2006: Bears 2007: Giants 2008: Cardinals 2009: Saints 2010: Packers 2011: Giants 2012: 49ers
I guess its Panthers vs Chargers then. The Panthers meet the 1st and 3rd of above. I can see them making it, if the Eagles win then they go to Carolina - who I see winning. If the Niners can then beat the Packers, they would go to Seattle and are one of the only teams to stand a chance up there - setting up Carolina home in the NFC champ game. San Diego - I just can't imagine any scenario where they win 3 straight road games.
I think if on your schedule, you played the NFC East and the Patriots, you won the SB the last 7 years too. 2006 Colts 2007 Giants 2008 Steelers 2009 Saints 2010 Packers 2011 Giants 2012 Ravens The 2013 teams with this schedule, the Broncos. So the Broncos, Panthers, Chargers are all up to continue or break streaks
It is kinda odd to me though that the Super Bowl teams have played the AFC East. I REALLY think it has something to do with sizing yourself up against the Patriots. A lot of these teams have gained a ton of confidence after playing the Patriots. The Giants in 2007 of course played the close game in week 17. The Saints in 2009 blew out the Patriots which was like a franchise defining game (it was built up like that). In 2010 the Packers went into New England and played a close game with Flynn and of course they gained a ton of confidence knowing how good they were without Rodgers, Rodgers returned and they took off. Then the 2011 Giants took out the Patriots again gaining confidence. The 49ers last season beat New England, although it didnt "propel" them like the other teams. Im interested to see if the Panthers make the Super Bowl, they did beat the Patriots in a game that was viewed as a big test. Who knows though, maybe im just crazy.
I think the Colts take this one, but since my 80 year old Mom is a lifelong Chiefs fan, I'm rooting for KC.
I really thought the Chiefs were going to take this one. But if Charles is seriously injured and not coming back - I think they are fucked.
They knew I bet the first score of game to be a rushing touchdown for the chiefs... Davis was averaging 4.7, I can't believe they didn't hand it off once. 7-0 chiefs though. Hopefully Charles is okay and can come back.
Can't pressure a QB when he throws quick passes. Two great drives from IND and KC to start. IND didn't run once on that drive
