The Jets have an extra 3rd but I don't see Idzik making that risky move. I would rather use all our picks and build up the offense and get some depth elsewhere. Our first pick should be either a TE or WR no doubt our biggest need. I wouldn't mind a little Green Bay Packer philosophy of drafting a QB every year. You never know if you can unload one for picks like they did with Flynn.

No chance we give up what it would take to get that pick...

No way. We have too many holes. Use the draft to plug as many as possible.

Only way I could see it would be if they are 100% convinced that one of the QBs coming out is our franchise QB, but I don't think that scenario is very likely.

There are other teams that will have interest with better ammunition.

To get the number on overall it would take something like this:

    2014 first
    2014 second
    2014 third
    2015 first
    2016 first

Tempting for Teddy but really not smart to trade up. This franchise can't afford it just one year removed from the Tanny years

The only way I could see it happening is if a decent piece of the value Houston is seeking in the package is Geno.

If the Texans scouts aren't sold on Bridgewater/Manziel as saviors, want to add additional pick value, and like Geno's potential, then maybe there could be something.

    I don't think it's probable, though.

That's a good point, our entire draft strategy could be completely different after FA.

It's awesome to actually have money to spend during FA, haven't been this excited about an offseason in quite awhile.

are they now? good for them, well I'm sure some team looking to move up will a spot or two will take a chance but what does this have to do with the jets who clearly won't?

not even. good player, best bet at QB, but not even him. not even for Luck. just screw the whole idea, quantity not quality, I want as many drafted as possible not just one guy, there are other needs and an all out free agent movement sounds like a bad idea.

Yep. The redskins are the perfect example why you shouldn't trade a future 1st.

For the Jets to get that pick, the Texans would probably want our 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Tampa's 3rd; and our 2015 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

If any team went along with that, the Texans would immediately become one of the top teams in the NFL, and the team that gave them all those picks would fall into a huge 6+ year slump because they won't have those core players from two drafts.

I don't think Idzik would go for that kind of foolishness.

Keep our picks and if we can't get Johnny Football, we get Taj Boyd in the 3rd rd.

We would just become the Redskins 2.0 and be stuck watching as another team enjoys our 2nd overall pick.

Texans arent going to trade the pick. They are open to it because they want to explore all options. Realistically it is going to take multiple first round picks just to even get the Texans thinking about trading it.
