Although I'd think if their head coach's job was on the line and they were projected for 3 or 4 wins and exceeded that by double, I'd think they'd be excited for next year as well. Jets finished on a high note, winning 3 of their last 4, going neck & neck with Carolina for the most part. Carolina beat the Giants like 34-0.

The truth is that historically the Giants have been a more dysfunctional organization than the NYJ. Years back the Mara brothers didn't even talk to each other. It got so bad that finally the Commish (Rozelle) had to get them to hire George Young (in 1979) to run the team. Not to say the Jets were the ideal successful franchise. But they dfd have stability and good ownership in Leon Hess. Mike never mentions that just that the Jets are a joke and have no class. I'm not a big Woody fan but the guy has never done anything to embarrass himself or the organization. And since Parcells the Jets have won more games than they've lost and have not been a bottom feeder org. like the Lions, etc.
the league saved them, they missed the playoffs for almost 20 years straight before George Young was sent in there to rebuild them which he did building 2 great championship teams(not the 2 fluke teams of the last decade).

The Giants don't celebrate mediocrity? That is funny. They sure celebrated their mediocre 2011 season. They celebrated in 2013 when they beat up a bunch of teams who did not have their starting QBs available.

Jets, Jets The only thing he said that was silly is that Idzik had a mediocre year. Evaluating GM's in the short term is a waste of time. Fixating on Rex is also the same mistake many on this board make. The most important reason for keeping Rex is the continuity of the offensive staff and it's work with Smith. Last year Rex was criticized for complementing Revis and driving his price up. Now Idzik will not say Geno is number one. As a soon as he does the agents will call and demand a raise to first round money. Idzik is way smarter than Francesa.
