Really cool. I guess another Rex myth bites the dust. People used to always suggest that Rex was loyal to his guys, but this season proved that isn't the case. He just wants to win and play the best player to make that happen. It isn't always the rookies, but this year it was.

Dee Milliner is nasty! I still hate the fact that he doesnt turn around to look at the ball though, thats gonna lead to alot of penalties

I got flamed for stating he was going to get better, some users on here even completely dismissed the possibility that he could improve...smh.

This is where people saying he sucks and giving him an F grade on the year need to stop being such negative bitches and start to see the improvement over the last 1/4 of the season.

As time goes on I hope this happens less and less. Hopefully our roster continues to get more talented. I'd love to eventually be in the position of having such a great roster that talented rookies are seen as eventual replacements for high level vets.

I think most people who maintain the DURRRR HE'S TERRIBLE mantra are just too stubborn to move off their initial opinion of him. People don't like to be wrong. They were right at first, and for most of the season he was really really bad.

Maybe they were too jaded from the first two thirds of the season to see the drastic improvement in the last third. Progression and where they finished is most important when grading rookies IMO.

Milliner made a big jump and that is being recognized by the league with weekly and now monthly awards. It's not just Jets fans with green glasses.

Riiight. Because signing Ed Reed wasn't being too loyal to his guys.

You should read Collision Low Crossers. Him being too loyal to his guys is more self-admitted fact than it is myth

Don't mind barcs he doesn't care about truth so much as he does imagining and portraying everything the Jets do in a positive light.

i dont think he turned it around. he was doing the same terrible things the last few weeks he did all season. all that really changed is he got a few picks, which are easy to identify when voting on stuff like rookie of the month.

in fact, id say december was one of his worst months.

im hoping berry is healthy and sees milliner's snaps next season

Well Ed Reed did have 3 picks for us so its not like it didnt work. Also our safety player before Reed got here wasn't very good either. Antonio Allen is inconsistent and hopefully develops into a good player but he isn't one right now.

Milliner gave up a significantly lower completion % on his targets. Theres a reason PFF is rating him so much higher and its not entirely because of interceptions.

Both Dee and Geno had very nice ends to their seasons. This provides hope that the current staff can help them grow as players and become key cogs for us next season. Lets face it, no matter what side of the Rex fence you are on, the best thing for any Jet fan is for these two guys to continue next season where they left off, because that will help us win a lot of games.

I agree they both finished the season nicely. My only concern with Geno's finish is that the improvement seemed to hinge on him running the ball more. I hate running QB's because of the injury factor.

Hopefully more talent around him will have the same effect.

Millner missed camp and plays one of the hardest positions in Football without help over the top most of the time in Rex's defense. Next year he will be good.

His play was definitely a lot better the last few games, even with him getting picked on and covering some pretty decent receivers. Seemed to close pretty quick on guys as well.

Still not convinced he was the right pick for us at the spot he went at and he's made some obvious errors over the course of the season but some people act like a CB giving up a single reception on a come back route is proof that they are the worst CB to ever play the game. Completions happen. A lot.

For me the key thing for a CB is not giving up the huge 40 yard bomb along the sideline in man-to-man coverage and if you do give up a reception to limit the yards after catch by tackling them immediately. Obviously you also need to cover your man closely so that the QB questions whether or not to throw it that way and defend or even intercept the odd pass thrown your way outside of long bombs but it's not like every time your man gets a reception that it was a catastrophic failure on your part.

Milner is still making a fair amount of mistakes, but fortunately he does have the athleticism to make up for a lot of them. Miami was picking on him hard and more than held his own.
