I will say though, a few years ago he did predict the Super Bowl matchup preseason. It was the 2010 season I believe
This was my initial post. Thought we'd get seven wins at the absolute best so obviously they exceeded my expectations this year.
I actually like Peter King as a reporter. He does a good job when he's simply talking to his sources and reporting what he's learned. When it comes to making predictions, he should leave it to experts ... or stick to something he knows about ... maybe sausage.
Even a broken clock is correct twice a day. Peter King is a horse's ass and Pats fan (the same thing really). NOTHING he says should be taken seriously. He doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.
Not to defend King but who would have honestly thought the Jets would go 8-8 with a un-proven rookie QB and pretty much a cast of no-name WR's? Not to mention a revamped defense/offence and coaching staff? And constant pressure from the fans/media to boot? If Rex doesn't get coach of the year for this, I don't know...
And based on what? Maybe I'm just a biased Jets fan but look at what all the expert prognosticators thought the Jets would finish compared to to the Panthers. The QB is what makes a team go as far as it deserves if all other issues are equal, so Cam Newton, being he's had previous experience, gave the Panthers an automatic higher expectation scenario. So what if the Panthers made the playoffs? If the Jets had Sanchez with them the entire years most assured, they would have been in it also.
Check the pre-season prediction thread...(where is that thing?) Lots of sensible and knowledgeable posters had them at 8-8.
