Amazing how your narrative changes when you're making excuses for Geno yet dumping on every QB potentially coming out in college. You've destroyed every QB with 1 or 2 years experience in college, touting guys who have played 3-4 years. Now apparently Geno's 3 1/2 years of college experience needs to be excused because of his gimmick offense in college. You are too funny. _
Those stats aren't a ringing endorsement for Geno at all. I just hope he is able to overcome a shit rookie year and become a productive QB.
The on thing i look at that gives me some hope with Geno is his home/road splits. Home: 74 QB Rating 200 YPG 7 TD 8 Int 6 WINS 2 LOSSES Road: 59 QB Rating 190 YPG 5 TD 13 INT 2 WINS 6 LOSSES those arent pro bowl numbers at home but it is night and day that he was much worse on the road. And i think part of that is being a rookie and not being comfortable on the road and i think experience fixes alot of that
The only stats that mean anything are 8 and 8. Please tell us that in your infinite wisdom you had the Jets winning the Super Bowl this year before the season started regardless of what the experts said about us being lucky to win 4 to 6 games. 8 and 8 with a weak supporting cast; little practice time with some receivers and a TE; and a rookie OG and FB; and Kerley out for 6 games; and Geno screwed it all up for you and your crystal ball.
For the sake of all that is good and holy, this should not become a Geno versus Sanchez thread. Listening to some of you, Sanchez, Muck, Buttfumble, Headband, Dogshit, Blahablahblah was the worst QB in the history of the NFL. Let it go. He was a Jet and was involved in 2 AFC Championship Games. He was a good teammate. Let it go, he's gone, no reason to shit on him anymore. There is also no reason to exalt that Geno is better than him. None. It's embarrassing. Falco stopped updating the Geno Tracking Stats thread about 6 weeks ago. Why? There was a reason he didn't include Sanchez because it was irrelevant. And a reason he stopped updating it. Go bump that thread. And compare today versus the early posts. Not against a good teammate who is now gone. Geezuz. _
It's obvious that the FO must continue to put the pressure on Geno to become a better QB - we need a veteran QB that can ACTUALLY play to be on the roster next season. I am not sold on him, but it appears he gives us the best chance to win going forward - 2nd season in the same system with weapons no more excuses. Rex won't survive with another rookie QB out there.
Agree with everything. Point I wanted to add was on #3... The key here is that Geno can and should use his legs and running ability to augment his current game. Basically it adds value to the position as he continues to develop his passing skillset. It isn't a coincidence that during his 4 week dive this season there several common factors: -Lack of playmakers at skill positions due to injuries (Kerley being the primary issue). -Poor offensive line play worsened by inability of WRs to get separation. -Geno getting pressured because no one was open leading to poor footwork and bad passes and decisions. -Geno not wanted to use his feet to help the situation. I call this the McNabb effect of not wanting to known as a running first QB. The positive in this instance is that Geno is right - he has to be a pocket passer to be successful in the NFL longterm. That is the mindset we want and now that the light went on that he can use his feet to help himself, that is a good thing.
Feel free to take your own advice. Guy posts numbers comparing the last two Jet rookie QB's and you launch into a tantrum.
New here? It's an unnecessary hate fest. It's what posters here do. Let. It. Go. He's gone. Or feel free to compare our franchise QB to the worst QB in history. Have fun with that. _
Hey Flash, want to have some real fun? Why don't you start a poll about who is a better QB, Geno or Sanchez. That should garner you a lot of fun. _
New here? Are you new to the internet? I'm finding it funny that the guy who pops up every time Mark Sanchez' name is mentioned in any thread ever is demanding that others "let it go."
I haven't defended Sanchez since August. He's done. Why the pathological need to dump on the guy? Let's start a thread on Vlad. Wilson. Gholston. Oh, we already did that. It's a Geno thread, I thought that was the point. But have fun with that. _
Haven't defended his play or his spot on the Jets since August. He's done. But you continue to revel in your hate. It's a Geno thread, not a dump on Sanchez thread. But you have fun with that. Classy Jet fans, gotta love them. _
My hate? When? What are you even talking about? Why do you keep saying "Have fun with that"? Here, I'll try to help ... OK folks! This is a GENO SMITH thread. NO other players shall be mentioned! (Or is it just Mark Sanchez that's off-limits? Can I get a ruling Stokes?)
