Rams wont go WR this early, they'll go OL and CB Raiders wouldn't dare pick a WR with that defense and no QB Titans they'll go WR unless they're comfortable with Wright and Hunter as the 1 and 2 Giants need LBs and OL help they got Cruz and Randle, Nicks is likely gone Steelers need youth on the defensive side of the ball, they can get a WR later I see 1 at most 2 going before we pick unless a team trades up in front of us but there's still free agency and the entire draft process to go through
thats true, the jets will probably wind up with one receiving weapon or another in the first, even if the 3 highest WR candidates are gone and the others feel like a reach to pick. if not that just means theres defensive prowess we can take advantage of. I know some might tear out their hair if the jets go defense in the first again, but its a better alternative to over drafting a player not worth it, not that this should occur anyhow.
They don't have a true number 1 receiver. Bridgewater probably goes number 1, who else will be available at QB that's worth taking that high?
The Central Florida QB is rated very high. Some think he reminds them of Ben. Carr is ranked high. Manziel.
Not in the first round imo. Both Cleveland and Oakland need a starting QB. Some say that St. Louis might even be looking for a new starting QB.
And that's where it's flawed imo. If two teams have an equal record and one team beats the other, there's no way on earth that it should be able to pick in front of the other. I don't give a rat's patoot about strength of schedule. With the parity in the NFL, that's way overrated. Great teams have bad days or key players can be injured when they play one team, but not when they play another. IMO strength of schedule shouldn't even be a consideration except as a tie-breaker if head-to-head, division and conference record don't clear things up.
Jake Steinberg @Steiny31 2m With the Cowboys loss it looks like the #Jets will have the 18th pick in the 2014 NFL Draft. #nyj
Hey! I agree with you...mostly. 1. Record 2. Head to head 3. Schedule strength Have to disagree about conference and division being factors because draft is set across all those factors and you'd be penalizing mediocre teams in crappy divisions.
So much depends on which of the juniors and sophomores come out. If Mike Evans doesn't come out then Margise Lee will be gone by 17. If Johnny Manziel doesn't come out then another blue chip player will likely go before the Jets pick. The number of offensive tackles with unpronounceable names who are juniors is insane. I hope everybody comes out. That gives the Jets the best chance at finding a great player at 17.
Titans need a qb Raiders need a qb rams may want to move on from Bradford, vikings def need a qb, same with jaguars and browns even texans. Not sure why u guys think titans and Raiders are gonna take a Wr so high without a franchise qb on there roster

I understand your point about division games, but why would conference games penalize a team? I believe that conference record is a factor in determining tie-breakers for the playoffs. If so, why shouldn't it be a deciding factor for the draft?
Right, see #2 above, head to head. With the same record, head to head (where available) should determine ranking. Draft position is based on the entire league; Conference record, like Division, should be disregarded to eliminate any weight that one being clearly superior would impose on the calculation. As you said "most games are played against conference teams" - no sense multiplying any difference between the conferences; overall record already does that and the tie breaker, schedule strength, attempts to balance it out.
It was all pretty much set after the 4 pm games were done after that it was 17 if Dallas wins and 18 if they lose.
Highly doubt the Rams go back to back years with receivers in the first round and they have a good group of young good receivers already.
