Our offseason motto: 'Watkins/Evans/Lee' Get one...Get er done. Sammy Watkins Mike Evans Marquise Lee
Watkins Evans Lee in that order. personally I'd rather the jets attain lee for immediate impact but supposedly the other two have higher ceilings. I'll be be happy with any one of them and hope they're who the jets get.
Definitely the motto. Add another WR along with one of these 3, a receiving TE or RB, and the O looks much improved.
I would like to see us go for a WR & TE combination in 1st 2 rounds. Dont care in what order as long as we address both of those positions with legit talent. If the top 3 WR are gone when we pick in rd 1, then trade back for more picks and try to scoop one of the 2 top TE. Then go for a WR in rd 2. Deep WR draft so we should be able to land someone good.
I'd take Evans over Watkins. But i'm a sucker for tall wide receivers. Most "experts" say Watkins is the best receiver in the draft class at this point. Also, I think TE's like Ebron and Amaro should be watched. Both have the potential to be real good NFL TE's.
If the draft were to happen today, it would probably be Watkins, Evans, and Lee. Watkins and Evans are fringe top 10 guys, Lee might go around 15-20. Obviously, there is a lot that can and will change between now and draft day. If either Watkins and Evans are available when we pick, I would pull the trigger without hesitation. I'm not yet sold completely sold on Lee--he has injury issues and doesn't have the blazing speed or height that you look for in a 1st rounder. To me he projects more like a really good #2 receiver in the league, which I'm not sure warrants a mid-1st round pick. I think I would rather trade down to the bottom portion of the 1st, pick up an extra 2nd or 3rd rounder, and draft Davante Adams/Jordan Matthews/ASJ/Ebron. My 2 cents.
I think Lee has gotta be the pick if he's available. The guy is a complete receiver and catches the ball with his hands which is incredibly important, and can really do anything from catch a wide receiver screen to go over the middle and of course the deep ball where he tracks the ball so well. The biggest problem with him is injury concerns. Watkins may very well be a game changer, but he doesn't really demonstrate the ability to get the ball in traffic. He has elite speed but he's a very small guy and made a lot of his big plays on wide open streak routes or gadget handoffs and such. He reminds me a lot of Percy Harvin. He also has an incredibly small frame so he could also be an injury hazard. The jury is really out on Mike Evans. He's a big guy who can go up and catch the ball, but he's not a vertical threat and will never be able to outrun NFL corners IMO. The guy very well could run a 4.80 40, and basically seems like David Nelson.
Watkins and Evans will be gone. Lee might have a chance to be there, if not there are a few options at TE and OLB. Maybe even trade back 5-10 spots to get one of them if the value isn't there then trade up once or twice to get up to 4 picks by the end of the second round.
Shut-up moron. Anyways - I doubt we will be able to get Watkins or Evans. Marqise Lee, Jordan Matthews, Allen Robinson, Eric Ebron (TE), or Jace Amaro (TE) will be available. Hopefully we acquire Maclin, some weapons via draft, some guards and we are set.
There are several really good passrushing OLBs in this draft. if Lee is gone where we're picking one of them might be the best option, or after trading back a few slots.
I think they'll all be gone. Watkins is top 10. Lee and Evans around 11-13. I'd be on board for Eric Ebron or Jace Amaro with our first round pick.
thats my feeling as well. he's the guy that can come in and transition the easiest out of all 3, the others are nice and I'll be happy to have them but thats an invaluable trait that sets him above the others in my book.
Barr, Clowney, and Mack I believe will be taken by the time we are up. There are too many good WRs out there to not take one in the first round. Allen Robinson is a first rounder possibly as well - dude has excellent eye to ball coordination Van Noy I believe is a 2nd round pick - wouldn't rule out an offensive lineman also.
Ebron, Amaro, and Seferian-Jenkins need to be on that list as well. All have stud TE potential and would be a blessing to whichever QB is under center next season.
