It's not a question of the value of the prospects. It's a question of the JETS HAVE NO FUCKING CHANCE OF GETTING THE PICK THAT TEDDY BRIDGEWATER IS LIKELY TO BE SELECTED ON SO WHY ARE WE SPENDING TIME TALKING ABOUT THIS?

Seriously, it'd be great to date Scarlett Johansson instead of your girlfriend also but I'll bet you aren't going to devote a single sentence to how much hotter Scarlett is because it just doesn't mean anything.

It's an internetz message board, why the FUCK do you care what we talk about? And why so angry?

Seriously, you do NOT have to click on every thread. And even if you do you don't have to respond.

Why don't you go back to the draft forum and dump on the top 10 QB prospects coming out this year?

I understand sarcasm perfectly but only the best writers are able to express sarcasm without actually having to tell people it is sarcasm. You obviously have not mastered the art of writing to be able to convey sarcasm with the written word.

You further prove that you have no idea what sarcasm is because hyperbole and sarcasm are completely different.

Idzik said the Jets will not be trading away draft picks anymore.

The Jets will be drafting between 11 and 20. So unfortunately this thread is pointless.

Yes, I would love Bridgewater too but it ain't happening.

I'm pretty sure Johansson going ahead of Bridgewater even on Bradway's board.

You seem like a fun person to party with.

My point was both sarcasm AND hyperbole.

You apparently can detect neither. Kind of thick that way.

Nope, one of 7 kids. Had to deal with a lot of dickheadedness growing up, lots of ball busting. Good times.

You seem a tad soft, sheltered.

Btw, why do you care what we decide to discuss on an Internet fan forum?

Do you question what folks order on line in front of you?

haha. my my my brad, so unlike you to lose your cool. glad it was my two sentence post that put you over the edge.

and you're right. I wouldn't devote a sentence to how Scarlett Johansson is hotter than my GF. because she's not.

Yep, you got it, soft and sheltered. I grew up in the exclusive suburb of The Bronx in the 70's and 80's, only the best of areas.

See that is sarcasm expressed in word, had I chosen to express this with hyperbole I would have said something like "I woke up daily with bodies riddled with bullet holes on my stoop".

Do you see the difference now?

    Dumbass.

    I was shouting for emphasis.

Sometimes all the reasonable conversation in the world won't stop a train wreck of a thread.

I realize that FAs are often overpaid. That said, the Jets will have a TON of cap space and have to do something with it to improve the team. The team has a desperate need at WR and there are some WRs who will probably be available in FA that can help the Jets. The Jets still need to draft a WR or two, but they can sometimes take a year or two to develop. It doesn't matter who the QB is, he has to have some weapons at his disposal. Just because they sigh a FA WR or two doesn't mean they won't be able to re-sign Cumby, Howard or any of their other FAs. Colon won't cost that much and with a season's experience and an offseason in the weight room, Winters should be better than fine and perhaps Campbell will have developed. The Jets were also pretty high on Dalton Freeman. He can C and OG, and he could even wind up being a starter at OG, then sliding to C when Mangold retires.

Giving up all those draft picks for Teddy would hurt a lot, there's no question about it, but with a QB of his caliber, I think it could more than compensate for those lost picks. I see the QB position as that important. I introduced the idea of trading an established starter for the exact reason of not having to use so many draft picks. The Jets have a lot of depth on the DL. If it was perhaps most any other team than the Texans, they could afford to trade one of them, and that could bring the number of draft picks the Jets would have to surrender down, perhaps considerably, depending upon who the player is. The Texans aren't gonna pass on Bridgewater, but even if they were willing to trade down, they have little need for a DE, so I know such a trade won't happen. For a team like the Jets to even consider making any such trade, they'd have to be convinced the QB is a sure thing franchise QB.

It's just a discussion. We don't make the decisions for the Jets, so relax, dude. I know that Idzik and the Jets aren't going to make this move. I was just curious about what fans thought. Some of you guys really need to chillax. You get bent out of shape all too easily over opinions on a football board. I get it that you disagree with the premise of this thread, and if you don't want to participate fine, but please stop with the "please stop the discussion" stuff. I despise attempts by posters to censor discussions on Jets boards. The purpose of these boards is to kick around ideas like this. The fact that someone is discussing the pros and cons of making a move like that should not threaten or scare anyone. If you think the idea is dumb, fine. Say so and move on, but knock it off with the attempts at censorship. I appreciate it that you said "please" and asked nicely, but it is still an attempt to squelch a discussion that I find interesting and valid.

I'm a fan of Geno's and I know that he had the deck stacked against him this year. I think he has a good chance to develop into a quality starter, but don't think he'll ever be a player of the caliber of Bridgewater. I think if the Jets had had Teddy as starter this year instead of Geno, there's a very good chance the Jets would have won 10-11 games and perhaps even won our division. I think Teddy's that good.

Have you even seen Bridgewater play? Did you see the bowl game last night? If you have and/or saw the bowl game last night, you would not even mention Derek Carr's or Sam Bradford's name in the same sentence. I think Bridgewater is already better than Luck. His arm is every bit as good as Luck's, and he's a much better athlete. He has a quick release, is extremely accurate and can make all the throws. His decision making and reading of Ds is topnotch.

What? I came in to this thread to post what I did, only to see you picking an argument with no less than 3 people. I was keeping on topic until you derailed the thread yet again.

I know it is second nature to you but you should try to stop being such a douche bag.

If you did more discussing and less insulting, people would probably be happy
to "discuss" things with you. For some reason you are posting as if you are a
NFL scout and everyone elses opinion is worth dog shit.

I have simply come to grips with the fact your more then likely just a board troll.

There are more train wreck threads this year than at any time since the board split. I'm guessing a bunch of people have snuck back on with second aliases.

Wow, my grandfather just off the boat from Calabria in 1905 went straight to the Bronx. Raised his family and my Dad on Gun Hill Road. 40s and 50s. A great area, tough people. I loved it as a kid.

I didn't realize the Bronx raised pantywaists.

Gotta love dudes correcting diction, syntax, spelling, grammar, inflection, sentence structure, usage, composition, literary terms, irony, rhetoric, sarcasm, hyperbole and the like on the Internet.

What a waste of time, dumbass.

I agree that there's no way that Idzik gives up on Geno this soon, nor should he. That said, I think he needs to sign a FA QB and perhaps draft one in the middle rounds. I also know that there's no way this trade would be realistic. That wasn't the purpose of this thread. It's just a philosophical discussion of what perhaps could be were the circumstances a little different, and also a bit of dreaming as I believe the Jets would win at least a couple of SBs with Teddy at QB.

IMO if Idzik takes a defensive player in the 1st round, he should be fired immediately following the pick and not be allowed to complete the draft. I don't care how highly Van Noy or Dix is rated, the Jets need to use 1st round picks on offense. You can't tell me there won't be an offensive player available who is rated just as high, if not higher than either of those two. I'm not saying that those aren't two great prospects, or that they wouldn't help the Jets, or even that I wouldn't want them were circumstances different here. I definitely think the Jets need to address the OLB and FS positions in the draft, but think it should be either in FA or in the 3rd round and lower.
