Receiver in the first and tight end in the second would be pretty good too. There are better FA receivers than tight ends this year.

WR: Eric Decker, Sammy Watkins, Jeremy Maclin, Jeremy Kerley
    TE: Austin Sefarian-Jenkins, Jeff Cumberland
    RB: Chris Ivory, Bilal Powell

    That's an offense.

Decker is the guy that intrigues me- I can't decide if its him or Peyton that's making him. Guys a player.

I just can't see him leaving Manning for the Jets.

We have almost 50 million bucks...I'm sure that drafting is only a part of how this team will be built for next year.

I don't want Decker. He's a product of Peyton. Get me a receiver that is able to produce even when they're getting balls thrown to them by bad/mediocre QB's. Look at what Kerley has done these past 3 seasons, he's legit. Get me Maclin who always produced regardless of the QB's that were throwing to him.

Let's throw all of our cap space at Jimmy Graham, then draft Sammy Watkins. That would be fun.

See, that's what I can't figure out whether he's truly very good or just a product of Peyton.

I just don't know. Love the guys route running, his hands and his toughness. Not sure how much of that is Manning.

I think our biggest need and the biggest security blanket for Geno would be a guy like Graham.

Just once I'd like to have a guy like him.

I can barely remember Mickey Schuler

I've been thinking along the same lines - 2 WR's in FA, and 2 in the draft. I'd be happy with 1 WR and 1 TE in the draft too, especially if we get 2 legit WR's in FA.

    Graham will never hit FA.

I'm not sure, an elite player like that wants to play with a top tier QB, and what we've been producing is a ton better than that Drew guy the Saints have.

Nelson, os a solid 2, Kerley a slot guy, you take the $$$ from Holmes and get a FA, but draft one as well.

If #6 takes a paycut, all the pieces are in place.

They are about to miss the playoffs by a game, because they blew the week 2 Pats game.

OP is absolutely correct. However this should not limit the Jets' options for drafting a WR in round 1.

The Jets also need a pass catching back like Sproles, Woodhead, McCoy to accompany any WR talent.

In addition to this, the Jets need to consider serious offers for either Graham or Decker, either of which would be huge red zone additions in conjunction with David Nelson. They have to avoid the expectations a blue chip WR will catch 80 passes.

It may take 2-3 years for a WR to fully contribute but of the first 8 WR picks, 5 of them would have led the team in rcvg. It will probably take a couple of more years to get all the pieces in place anyway so it's not like they will be expecting him to come in and tear it up year one.

With Kerley and Nelson, add a receiver in FA, pick up another in the first 3 rounds, a TE also in the 1st 3 rounds and you have another pick in the first 3 rounds plus 7-8 more picks to fill positions of need.

Ebron can make some amazing catches but also drops some easy ones. Great potential but I am hoping Sammy Watkins is there when we pick if not then I think we would have a choice of Ebron or Mike Evans.

I think the Jets should continue to draft d in the early rounds. Since Rex will be with us until the end of time, we might as well play to the overall philosophy of the most important person in the organization.

I know you are joking, but if it's for a can't miss safety like Berry or Thomas, then you go with that.

I don't know crap about the safety situation with the draft though.

Well, you know he's not going all 10+ picks on offense. We need help in the secondary.

According to the CBS prospects rankings, there are about 20 or so that have at least a 3rd round grade. That is absolutely insane.

That's not true. He played pretty well with Tebow throwing him the ball even.

We need to just go BPA in the draft. Yes we need upgrades at G, WR, TE, S, CB, and OLB, but we're building for the future. Save the needs for FA.
