    Screw Bridgewater.

I rather give Geno a year or two to get better or get Jameis Winston. Winston is twice the QB Bridgewater is or ever will be and he'll be available about the time Geno sinks or swims.

And by that time Rex will already have the #1 defense in the nation.

The Jets will have to blow real, real bad to get Winston if he plays well again next year. The Jets would have to be 1-15 or 2-14.

    Not really.

If Idzik uses the next 2 drafts to get Rex the final pieces to his #1 defense and MM some serious weapons on offense, we become 'one player away' and Idzik can then trade his entire 3rd draft for Winston.

I like Teddy a lot, but I don't think he's quite good enough to warrant the amount of pieces the Jets would have to give up in order to acquire him. MAYBE if the offensive line was better and the Jets had playmakers, but they have too many holes right now to justify mortgaging the next two drafts.

Hypothetically, we call HOU with this huge deal to trade up and they consider/want it. The Jets FO should hesitate why Houston, who is supposedly a QB away, is trading away from the top QB prospect.

True, and for the Jets to have that bad of a record the roof would've had to cave in (e.g. DL and/or QB injuries, etc.).

If the Jets somehow were able to grab Winston, leave it up to Cimini to work his "Kenrick Ellis druggie" troll magic by saying the Jets are drafting QBs with sexual assault issues (Sanchez at USC).

My only problem with Bridgewater is who the hell has he actually played? He's dominated a pretty weak conference. So what? How does that prove he has what it takes to be a franchise QB in the NFL? Nuts to trade away so much on such a high risk.

That seems silly. Why bother making the call then? If the Jets are making the call with an offer they had better already have their minds made up. Houston accepting their offer shouldn't cause any pause at all.

In other words you are just spouting bullshit like you've always done here and as sg3 at JetsInsider and you did not see a damn game he played in all year.

Funny because you lean on the "completion" crutch but you bring up Geno and Big 12 teams like Baylor and Texas.

He played in the Big East his first three years NOT the Big 12 and the year he played in the Big 12 Texas had a bad defense and Baylor's defense was one of the worst defenses in all of college football. You probably don't know who's in the rest of the Big 12 without googling it.

Truth is, you never saw Geno play in college either and you didn't maniacally jump on his bandwagon until we drafted him.

I get we're not trading up for Geno, it just made for some late nite fun arguments, but if you're going to butt your nose into football discussions, please stop the BS made up crap.

Like we did back in 09. Cleveland needed a QB but traded out the number 5 spot.

And his out of conference games were against even worse crap than his in conference games....a very risky first choice for the Texans or whoever

If we do a trade like Washington did for RGIII, we would fail on an epic level just like Washington for the EXACT same reasons. We have a serviceable QB now with a lack of skill players on offense and DBs on defense. We need as many picks as possible. We need multiple WRs. We need an above-average TE. We need DBs who can actually play well. We need o-linemen. We really could use another OLB. Trading away a ton of high picks for just one player when we have so many other needs is absolutely ridiculous. AND people want to take an unproven player.

I can't believe people are talking about trading Wilkerson and Coples plus a pick to move up and get him??? What if he's a bust? We are literally fucked for years.

Bridgewater doesn't fall past the second pick. The Texans are gonna grab him with the Rams probably sticking with Bradford.

How much do you think Redskins fans are kicking themselves now? They are losing the potential to get ANYONE IN THIS DRAFT CLASS because of the RGIII trade. The Rams made out like fucking bandits.

Imagine if the Jets held the first overall pick and we lost it. Not worth the risk.

    Spot on.

Trade away possibly your top two best players on defense and potential draft picks to draft a guy that "might" be a good qb? That's absurd.

If anyone thinks Idzik is even thinking that in his head, you are nuts. Tanny? Maybe. But Idzik? No fuckin way. You can't solve one problem by creating another.
