Basically, I agree with you. It's not smart to weaken one part of your team to strengthen another. Again, I think having a QB like Teddy, changes everything. He is an amazing player. I think he could wind up being a much better QB than Luck, and quite possibly every bit as good as Brady, Rodgers or any other QB presently in the NFL. He will make everyone around him better and is a great leader. He would make the Jets a serious contender for the next 10 years. The same thing can't be said of Mo and Coples.

Grow up. I'm not trading my whole draft for a player, it's called sarcasm.

I'd give up whatever it takes to draft a player of this stature for what is market. I'd do the RGIII trade in a second. I'd do something with current players. I'd do a combo.

Seriously, grow up and put on your sarcasm detector. It's a freaking Internet message board.

It's the only position in the NFL you do it for.

And you do it because the position is so important.

Saying that would sound like i dont think he has first round value.
Either way the simple solution is to fight the urge to hit the quote
    button on my posts.

Well he was listed as 195 when being recruted but his old cbs high school sports page now has him listed as 190.

All scouting info now has him listed as 6"3 200lbs. So no clue where that 20lbs wight gained is coming from unless all the scouting info is incorrect.

Gellon is much less mobile then Teddy. Two moving object create more
impact then when one of them is basically standing still.

Geno is 6"2 220 that inch and 20lbs makes a difference.
"edit:" All though i do think Geno will have injury issues long term.

Brees is a freak of nature first off and a part of a generation when QB's were truly tough.

He would be nice, but I dont think trading up for him is the move this year. We would just be surrounding him with mediocre free agents and second day draft picks. Doubt he would succeed in a situation like that.

Draft some young weapons for the offensive sides of the ball. If you need to trade a fourth and a fifth to get back into the first to draft a WR/TE, go for it. Bolster the offensive line as well. Going into the 2014 regular season, we'll have a revamped offense with Geno.

If Geno sucks and doesnt show any improvement, move up to draft your franchise guy next season. This way, the new QB is walking into a good situation, as opposed to a dire one.

You only trade up if you're a piece or 2 away. We're currently rebuilding.

I liked Teddy too until I watched him play this year. He is not the same QB he was last year.

You either rebuild or you build.

I'd like to build around a guy like Bridgewater.

Teams with franchise QBs don't rebuild, they reload.

Teams without franchise QBs seem to always be in an endless cycle of rebuilding.

    I'm tired of rebuilding.

If the Texans get #1 pick and O'Brain signs on. They take a qb

If we had playmakers at every position except QB I could understand trading up to get Bridgewater. At least when the Redskins traded up they already had Fred Davis, Santana Moss, Pierre Garçon, Josh Morgan and Paulson. We trade up and who exactly will he be throwing to? Let's build up the talent base and give Geno another year or 2.

To move down from 15 or so to 1 would require the Jets to Tannenbaum away the first three picks of this draft and next years first

    1) This GM isn't doing that for any pick

    And

    2) Having seen TB about six times this season I'm not certain he's worth that trove of precious assets.

My instinct would be to stick with GS and use the full 11-12 picks and FA cap bucks we have to build a team that we can enjoy watching contend for the big prize

We've tried the panic QB move too many times in our history with little to show for it

Even that too if Geno shows steady improvement.

    That's fair.

But which 6 games convinced you of anything?

So I'm guessing you only saw the 3 games out of 13 where he completed less than 65.5% of his passes.

Or maybe the 4 games out of 13 where he actually threw an interception. Only one interception in any of those games as he had not had one game with more than 1 INT. 4 INTs all year. Yeah, that's it.

Or maybe it was the one and only game he didn't throw at least 1 TD.

Seriously, what 6 games convinced you he's not worth it?

Was it the bowl game against Miami?

    35-45 (77.8%), 447 yards, 3 TDs, no INTs, 182.3 QB rating?

Tell me you watched the bowl game, yes?

    Which 6 games?

Quick, go google "Teddy Bridgewater stats ESPN" and pick out his worst 6 games, the ones you just happened to see.

    Here's a hint, he didn't have 6 bad games.

He didn't have 6 mediocre games.

He didn't have 6 pretty good games.

He was exceptional in 9 games and he was pretty damn good in the other 4.

If your argument is that he played against weak competition, then it's a straw man argument that you can feel good about. Until arguably his best game. Against Miami.

This is BWays excuse for not going after ANY QB.

Whether we trade up or take a better guy sitting there at 1 or 2.

We won't be better NEXT year.

It's not about next year it's about setting us up for the next decade.
