Let's say that tomorrow morning the Jets make a decision regarding Rex Ryan.

Either they keep him or dump him so that debate would be over.

What about all of our other coaches, assistants, scouts, etc. (let's ignore Izdick in this thread since he is not going anywhere)?

If Rex stays or goes, who else should we throw under the bus?

    Who are the unsung heroes?

Who will other teams try to steal from us?

I will start the ball rolling.

Unless we have a new head coach with his own guy, I am willing to give Marty another year to run our offense.

With that being said I think our position coaches, especially at WR and OL need to be replaced ASAP.

If Rex goes, Marty goes, and probably a lot of other coaches. It'll be a mess.

Marty just got here and has had very little in the way of groceries to work with.

I could see him coming back but his position coaches are crap anyway.

There is probably no way they make a decision this week when the Jets can eliminate Miami and cause glee throughout GreenVille. If they fire him there is nothing to play for and if they re-sign him there is nothing to play for.

We hire a new offensive HC, Marty is good as gone.

Dunbar will be gone as well.

The only coach that I absolutely do not want to see go is Karl Dunbar.

You are living in the Matrix, if you think this will happen.

    He will go with Rex.

I work with some Lions fans who said they would welcome Rex in a heart beat if they fire Jim Schwartz

Dunbar would easily go with him to work with Suh, Fairley and Ansah.

    Sounds GREAT

Why do people assume Dunbar goes with Rex? There's no history with Rex prior to the Jets. I think he'd probably at least listen if we interviewed him for DC.

Whether he's qualified to be promoted to DC is beyond my knowledge, and probably anyone else on here even though they'll tell you otherwise. He's certainly excelled in his current role though.

If Ryan goes, so does the entire staff. Close the thread.

If he stays do we keep these bums or bring in some new assistants?

With 5-6 threads about Rex having one for the assistants adds value.

Exactly. The new coach will bring in his own staff.

Even the guy who cleans the fucking windows at the practice facility will be gone if Rex goes.

IMO if there is a new HC, he ought to be able to hire his own staff. So no coordinator or coach should be forced upon him. That said, hopefully, he'd want to retain Dunbar as Dunbar is one of the best in the business. I'd also hope he'd hire MM and Lee or at least someone who runs the WCO.

No out there is better than what we have right now. We missed out in Arians, Trestman, and Kelly. Bill o brien? Ken whisenhunt? Please no...like another poster said. You don't keep Rex, bring in a new OC, draft a rookie QB then possibly go 8-8 with them then can all of it to rebuild. If you aren't keeping the coach we just wasted an entire season for nothing. Implementing all these schemes and plays. It would be an absolute waste.
