    Agreed

Rex absolutely should be coaching this team.

I think he should be given another year. What did they expect this year, for him to turn water into wine? The team was just awful. It's not like they went out and got star players. Kerley was the jets best reciever lmao.

He made thnis season interesting up until this week fighting for a playoff spot, which is more than ANYONE thought going into this season with this Young and Raw team. We were destined to pick in the top 5 by all the "experts" I think Rex has earned the right to coach this team for another 3 years. If Idzik fires him it would be a huge mistake.

The last few years, I really hated the circus atmosphere surrounding the Jets. I really think Rex facilitated and embraced much of that.

Since Idzik has been here, Rex has really been on his best behavior. I have no doubt that's at Idzik's request (orders).

I certainly have problems with Rex. His inability over the past three years to beat good teams (3 teams with winning records the past three years). His inability to win 2 in a row this year. His inability to win in December in '11 and '12. I hate the lack of discipline (dumb, way too frequent penalties). Playoff wins are great, but even with good teams he has no division, conference or VLT's.

That being said, he has many positives.

I think if Rex can continue not running his mouth while Idzik hopefully provides him the weapons on offense he needs, I think it can work. A few weeks back I'd definitely say I was leaning towards firing Rex. Now I'd say, keep him.

I'll say this again. Lame duck or not, let 2014 tell the tale of Rex Ryan and the Jets. If the team is rolling, nothing says you can't extend a coach during the season. If the team looks like a redo of this year's team, then Rex walks.

It was hardly a perfect situation considering Palmer looked washed up the last few years in Oakland and Cinci and they have a running game that isn't even as good as ours.

I agree 100%. Like I said, what does he have to work with on offense. The defense has been good at times, but the secondary has been soft as baby shit all season. I think he’s actually did “ok” with the team he’s got.

I'm more worried about Marty and David Lee and Dunbar.

Please keep Rex and all the rest as well. Marty will be good, with Rex.

honestly cant stand Incarcarated Bob. His claim to fame was assaulting a Patriots fan at Super Bowl 42 and getting locked up for 6 months in Arizona. lmao.

Hmm what will the excuses for Rex be next year when the Jets are again 7-8 and Ryan's on the hot seat? Will it be he has no offensive talent to work with? The refs screwed the Jets? You can't blame Rex for lack of production??

Seriously, what is this fascination with Ryan whose a career .500 coach? He's average and his record speaks to that.

Many need to try and set their sights a little higher. You should want the Jets to dominate, not just want them to be a .500 team every year.

Ryan has been here 5 years. Not one year. He needs to be judged on his whole body of work. Don't just base him off 2013 and the lack of offensive personnel. Also don't just say he's a defensive genius because if that was the case the Jets would have a dominating D and they don't. There's much more that needs to be a part of the evaluation process than just this season.

And the thing with Bob is he just makes predictions and gets a few right. He broke the Lebron Decision, Revis holdout, Tebow the Jets, Peyton to Denver, etc but he basically mindlessly predicts things and get like 1 out of 10 predictions right.

I think most fans who like Rex are judging his whole body of work witch includes playoff wins over Manning and Brady in back to back weeks,How many NFL coaches have done that in back to back weeks? Im sure youll say well that was 3 years ago,yea your right it was but if we fix the offense i think Rex can win it all

Fair enough. Those playoff wins were great but like you said, they were 3 years ago which is ancient history in this league. 3 straight years of decline is troubling for any head coach to overcome. The team has gotten worse every year and he has to take a good chunk of the blame for that since he's the HC. I actually think Ryan's part of the problem with fixing the offense. I think he knows so little about it that even if we bring in some blue chip talent this offseason that he may not know how to fully utilize them to the best of their abilities. And let's face it, there are other good defensive coaches in the NFL and college who can most likely come in here and use the D personnel that's here today. Also the talent on the roster has become worse and he needs to take some of the blame for that. I cringe to think of him trying to draft defensive players early in the 2014 draft. With as bad as our offense is, that's a frightening thought but it could happen if Ryan has some input into the pick.
