Coming off last season and with the doom and gloom, I figured another 6 win season and quite possibly wouldn't have even surprised me to go 4-12. Considering we beat last year's record already with a rookie QB, I think Rex has done a great job and 8-8 would be quite an accomplishment.

In one of the many prediction threads, I said 7-9. Hopefully, I was wrong. This team has played better at times than I thought they would, with wins against the Pats, Falcons, and Saints standing out.

Just like in the preseason and the end of last year, it's abundantly clear that we need more talent on the offensive side of the ball. Once we shed some of these contracts and bring in new talent from FA and the draft, things should be looking up.

    We were 6-10 last year.

I thought we had every reason to believe that we could make the playoffs with a 9-7 or 10-6 record this year.

I thought it was unlikely that we would beat the Patsies for the division title but hadn't ruled that out either.

It looks like I was a tad optimistic.

I had them at 4-6 outside the division (they wound up 5-5) and thought they would sweep Buffalo and split with Miami and be competitive with NE but lose and if they could find a way to sweep Miami too and steal another game somewhere they'd have a shot at a playoffs.

A 3 game difference is a wide range, but at least I was on target.

I was in the 4-6 range.

I was figuring top 5 defense, bottom 5 offense.

I don't get people with this view. Rex did a HORRIBLE job. He once again ruined the offense, he even admitted it. We started the season with an aggressive offense that resembled a MM offense, that was aggressive and made plays down the field. Geno threw a good amount of interceptions but he was making plays. Then Rex in his infinite ignorance, decided to once again force his ground and pound philosophy down MMs throat (he has said that he did this publicly) and our offense went completely into than tank, and we lost like 6 of 8 games and collpased after the bye. That is all on Rex.

Why people think he is a head coach I have no idea. We have average overall talent so any where from 6-8 wins shows average coaching at best. Hopefully he is fired next Monday. If the reports of the Jets already contacting coaches is true then Rex is gone and that is the right move.

I thought 8-10. We do not have as bad of talent as people want to believe. We have crappy coaching.

6-10 wins plus a younger faster defense plus out draft picks plus Holmes, etc. back healthy plus free agent pickups would get us 2-3 more wins to 9-7 or 10-6.

Who did we lose last year that we should be worse than 6-10?

Revis (hurt last year, we can't lose what we did not have)
Dustin Keller (hurt last year, we can't lose what we did not have)
Brandon Moore (Colon seems to have muddled through)
Matt Slauson (I had no idea how much we would miss him)
    Bart Scott (Wasn't missed)
    Mike DeVito (Wasn't missed)
    Sione Pouha (wasn't missed)
Laron Landry (would have been nice to have him back)

Before Sanchez got hurt, what reason did we have to think we would be less than 6-10?

I said 8-8 with a shot at going up to 10-6 with some luck.

I was saying anywhere from 7-9 wins. Another year with a lackluster offense and we almost make the playoffs. If we upgrade that side of the ball to competent from disgraceful we can make the playoffs every year

I had us in the 7-9 win bracket, but even having achieved that, I don't think we were as good as I expected.

Take away those two wins via penalty and my prediction would have been spot on. Who knew that for once, the Jets would get lucky. 7-8 is better than 5-10.
