Of course it'll be Whisenhunt, him and Idzik are boyfriends.

    Long live Rex Ryan

How often do GM candidates go out and campaign for a job? They may contact the team and let them know they're very interested, but that's about it.

Actually, the candidate from the 49ers (I forget his name) for the Jets' GM job, after his 1st or 2nd interview came out and said he really wanted the job, and cancelled his interview with another team. That surprised me, I haven't seen that before unless the guy had the job.

Was Tannenbaum already GM when Woody bought the team? If so, he didn't have to keep him.

the difference is, save for Belichik and Carrol, the coaches you mentioned all were consistent winners with their first teams. Whisenhunt was not.

I really dont want Rex to go. This team played hard for him todaya

Tannenbaum was a Parcells' hire and an ass't GM/capologist when we demoted Bradway and promoted him to GM

IIRC, several candidates turned down interviews for the GM job last year

I'm a big Rex fan, always have been but it is what it is, 3 straight seasons we missed the play offs, maybe it is time to move on.

I personally would love to see Rex get one more shot at it with some good $ to spend on some talent. Although, the end might be near.

Rex is the man for the job! I will be pissed if he is fired. We are a true #1 receiver away from being a contender. With improved play at LG an the secondary. Can't forget Geno progressing but I think he can be the answer if he is given weapons. I want Sammy Watkins or Lee paired with Hakeem nicks, Kerley, Nelson and hill.

If Rex is fired then we take a big hit on the defensive side of the ball. I hate firing a coach every 3-5 years. We need to build a full team. With Marty we have an offensive mind that now will get some weapons this offseason to go along with a Rex Ryan Defense. I just hope to see Rex as a jet for one more yer to show everyone how good of a coach and team he can put on the field with a good offense

A win against a bottom 5 NFL team wont do much to save Rex's job as of today. The real test with be next week. If this team gets to 8 wins and eliminates Miami, i cant see a way they fire Rex even though its most likely better for the team. We shall see...

jets always backwards with this stuff. hired rex- kept schotty: mistake. hired idzik- kept rex: mistake. new guys need to bring in their own crew. so if rex goes i would hope the new hc brings his own guys.

I'm sorry but im pretty despondent on the team as of late. I mean, the product put out is not worth my money, and many times my time. I went hiking today. Had way more fun.

Rex is about all i have left when it comes to love for the team.

Here we go again making stupid assumptions that when you talk to the players in confidence it leaks out....This is such a BS stretch.

I could see liking Rex when he was a trash talking fatso and winning games but how can you love the emasculated wimp he's become?

Did you see Rex furiously yelling at the ref today after Geno was touched out of bounds?

Rex is not emasculated whatsoever. He still has the fire in him.

This is Idzik's nightmare. Give your coach the worst roster in the league and a rookie QB and he goes 8-8 when everyone picked them to be the worst in the league. You fire Rex, who will be successful where he goes next, and you don't have the Jets a contender within a couple of years and he never sniffs another GM job. His best bet is to let Rex coach out his contract and judge him on next year. If we improve then it was a smart move. We decline or stay the same it is easy to fire him.

Firing Rex because he did not make the playoffs with a rookie, non NFL ready QB and no WRs is the kind of idiocy that makes this franchise a laughing stock. All the fans that scream for Rex's head are the same that will be bitching again a year down the road because....well just because they listen to a fat, self serving Jet hater with no knowledge like Fatcesca. LOL
    Such a freaking joke
