DT still uses rex's system obviously and has been with him for YEARS. i feel like if we kept him it would ease the pain of losing rex on the defensive side, but i don't know

DT wont stay out of respect for RR. Pretty much guaranteed.

I don't think Marty's status is tied to Rex's (he's only been here one year and isn't going to be married to going whereeve Rex goes) but definitely the defensive staff's going out the door unfortunately which stinks.

Rex calls the plays for a reason... DT is nowhere near able to draw up schemes and shit like Rex... You will see a considerable drop off in this defense if Rex leaves...

He and everyone else on the defensive staff will go where Rex lands up next year, whether Rex is a DC or HC. Rex ain't sitting out.

This franchise needs some continuity for once. We have to keep Rex for at least one more season. He needs 1 year with a proven QB or some proven offensive talent. We owe him that much.

If Idzik truly kept Rex around just to fire him then Idzik is the biggest moron of a GM. We just wasted an entire season, we truly did. The only thing at this point would be Idzik giving him another year just to fire him.

If it truly was playoffs or fire then Idzik should have never allowed him in. He is the General Manager, he decides the head coach.......one full season we just completely wasted.

They'd have to keep him as a lame-duck coach which isn't ideal, though he was more or less lame-duck this year anyway. They're not giving him a contract extension coming off 8, 6 and 6-8 win seasons.

At least Rex didn't start crying this time around. If he gets fired, so be it. Life will go on and so will the Jets with or without the Rexists that surely will follow him out the door just like the Tebots followed Timmy.

Now lets assess where we are at when Rex is fired:

    No QB
    No Head Coach
A defense that will take a big step back

    What a joke.

Interesting report, things like this don't usually leak out unless somebody wants it to. Makes one wonder who's camp leaked this information and what the motives are. If we win these last 2 it will be a very interesting black Monday.

Surely an offensive coach will fix all of that

Interesting. I wonder if it's a motivational tactic.

    This..

not sure if I buy this report... a rookie QB with a team "destined" to win no more than 3 games... and playoffs or the boot for rex?

if so then Idzik is not a GM we can build with
