roads were very cold this morning. it literally took 15 minutes for the roads to cover. the hwy dept slow played this thing than were scrambling to get on top of it. by 1:00 it was coming down at a pretty good clip and we got 3" by 5 pm. today was alot tougher than i thought it would be
Yeah FJF..for us it was rush hour pm..what a nightmare. The side roads were a joke. They didnt take into account temps..and the previous snow that keeps leaking water everyday and freezes at night. I didnt even think about that. To me, it was a simple 4 inch storm. Never expected such bad roads.
Hoping for some good weather this weekend, mom is flying out of Philly via Detroilet.... two trouble spots.

jay is probably sleeping after the last couple weeks of tracking snow. looks like we have a little stretch of clear weather and a muddy mess after the heat wave comes through sunday

lol....CBG...sorry..crazy couple days. IM BACK! OK...Although christmas eve is sitll a long shot the canadian model really wants it to snow..good model too. Will do some heavy studiying tonight. Then possible a rain event maybe snow..friday..and yes..new years eve...have mentioned that several times now for a week FJF!!... Then January 4th/5th...will be on tonight to study all.

Hey Grump..yep...we have been talking about a warm weekend for this weekend for about 2 weeks now grump..stick with us bud!! Hmmmm...really not much to add so let me tell you why. The Canadian model shows a possible stormr on Tuesday night/ Chirstmas Eve of about 4-6 but every other model has the storm...but shoots south of us. Now the Canadian model is pretty damn good...but still..cant buy into it yet. Now the 27th storm is had by several models but most have it a tad too warm for snow...but plenty of time to iron out the details. Then there is the storm for New Years Eve...sorry Brook...but this storm too has some model detractors even though its been on the radar for over a week now. Then there is the storm for the 4th. Honestly, there is not much to add. I can make stuff up though? lol...seriously not much to add. If the Canadian Model is on to something for Christmas Eve it would be picked up by the other models by tomorrow night...so tomorrow night we study again. All the models had a good hit for December..and it hit...they then had a lull with this warm weekend....another hit. They then had us going back into the freezer with a parade of storms starting up again. That final part has yet to show up except with some storms and no agreement. Winter will kick back in..no doubt...Im just starting to wonder if its waiting for the date to have a 2014 instead of a 2013 in it. Will be on again tomorrow night or EARLIER if there is better news...but will be on tomorrow night 100 percent. Always feel free to ask questions guys and girls...never bothers me.

lol..cbg...wish they were right!! Doesnt look like it. Things are quiet except a possible thunderstorm? monday when the warm air gets pushed out by cold air..then maybe next weekend something to keep an eye on...quiet pattern right now. Watching: 27th....31...4th.
and just as I wrote that...the Euro from last night along with a few other models are trying very hard to form a little storm along the cold front coming through Monday evening. If that were to happen, it would mean a possible 1 to 3...2 to 4 event from DC to Boston. Just that many models develop no such disturbance..so with plenty of time to go, we will see if any models jump on board with this thinking. It would give us a nice little event for Christmas Eve.
I believe in the magic of Xmas,,,,,so until the fat lady sings or in this case the euro model says for sure , I will hold out hope for some snow,,,,,,,let us know Jayster
