the Giants were 7-7 after 14 games in 2011.

we won 2 road playoff games, we were a final 4 team 2 straight years.

It means that if we have to recycle things every 2-5 years then it must be done. What is Rex in the last 2 years plus, like 12-21? Hardly anything to hang his hat on

Did Wade Phillips win a playoff game with a better QB, more talent on offense and defense?

Did Wade Phillips go into the division leader's house and beat them in a playoff game?

I think not. Comparing Phillips to Rex is laughable at best.

Patriots dropped a 40 burger BOTH times on the Texans. We "limited" them to 29, and we should of beaten them at their house the first time if not for Stephen Hill dropping that pass.

Texans never had a chance in hell. C'mon man, you are reaching way too hard.

Yes the GIANTS WERE 7-7 in that year but they earned their way in and didnt have the games handed to them by 2 teams that put a practice squad on the field for most of those games.

When has this ever worked out? Cowher and the Steelers missed the playoffs 3 straight years - did they fire him? Fuck no. They rode the course and continued to get better. We are getting better while getting younger. Does that mean anything to you?

I can see it now, just like James Farrior... Quinton Coples our guy that leads the team in hurries becomes a rotational player for our next coach, eventually trades him to a team and becomes a 10 sack a year guy helps a team win a SB.

    2010 divisional rd at NE:

Jets win 28-21(7 pts in garbage time)

    2012 division rd at NE:
Texans lose 41-28 where NE coasted in the 4th and Hou scored 14 garbage time pts

and the 2010 Pats were better than the 2012 Pats

Keep backing Rex then and continue to see no offense, first round defensive players endorsed by one of the worst talent evaulator coaches in the business, no discipline, playing old players because he likes them, and a wildly over rated defense who he insists is top 5

12-21 in the last 33 doesnt lie and would you be surprised if it went to 12-23 in 2 weeks? I sure wouldnt.

Dont even compare Rex to Cowher, its not even close

they earned their way in by playing 2 bad teams and winning the worst division in football w/ 9 wins:rofl:

since you seem to love Namath I gues you think we didn't earn SB II, after all we got a bye we didn't earn and homefield we didn't earn.

You realize on of those 2 bad teams was us, right? Who was the coach? Yep, Bluto Ryan.

We earned SB III, not II, by winning the AFC title game, something no other Jet QB or coach has ever done. The way the playoffs were set up in those days are of no concern in this. You have always put down Namath, what kind of Jet fan are you to disparage a HOF QB that led us to our only SB appearance?

    Dense? Lmao whatever. Peace.

2010 Patriots were far better - Mark Sanchez and the freaking Jets went into their house and beat them.

I will keep backing Rex because when this team has talent, we will contend. Firing and hiring coaches again and again has proven not to work. Rex did endorse Kyle Wilson which was a bad move, but he did endorse Wilkerson, Coples and Richardson did he not? Works both ways.

Rex needs to understand the offense needs to be rebuilt, and that the defense needs to hold off till later in the draft. He should have no say in what the GM wants offensively, and they need to rebuild the offense.

I'll tell you one thing, Rex will endorse Sammy Watkins - his son knows first hand how good that kid is - if he is on the board the Jets will take him.

Do you really have faith that Bluto will aquire more offensive talent or for that matter know how to use it? He's a 1950's coach coaching in 2013

If its between Watkins and another defensive player what makes you think Rex would want Watkins? The track record speaks for itself.

I don't see the reason for firing him now. I wanted him fired this time last year.

What did he do this season to justify being fired? Nothing. This season had 3-13 written all over it. Worst case scenario, the team will finish 6-10 with inept personnel at numerous positions.

If the Jets fire him, this will have been a completely wasted season. Then the new coach is going to take a year to clean house.

I would like to see Ryan coach a team with a good QB. It is partly his fault, though, that he hasn't had a good one yet. Ryan,of course, played in a major role in the drafting of Sanchez.

All previous Jets coaches dating back to Walton were easy calls. The ones who got fired deserved it. Then, of course, there were others who quit. The decision to be made here with Ryan is very difficult. There are a lot of pros and a lot of cons. He is competent. He is not a complete bum like Kotite or Rod Dowhower or Les Steckel or Rod Rust. There is also a lot of winning to do before he can be compared to Marty Schottenheimer or Bud Grant or Weeb Ewbank or Chuck Noll.

Because Rex knows if he wants to continue coaching for the Jets, they need to rebuild the offense. He knows this more now then ever.

Rex Ryan's son plays football at Clemson, you don't think he's talking to Rex about how good this player would be on the Jets?

Idzik will have the final say, if he wants to continue to have his job as well.

Let Rex do the coaching and let the GM buy the groceries.

Do not waste your time. There have been a plethora of Namath threads. He will not give in. Just let him be.
