I'm up in 07646 at my parents. just cleaned snow for second time. is say we got 10 or 11 inches. this Sno Brum I just got is awesome for cleaning off the cars.
No reason for a snowblower here as we got all of 2" before the changeover. Yep, a Stephen Hill snowstorm for sure. Shows up, nothing happens worthwhile.
Damn CMAN..that really sucks. I think about 50 miles north of you that got around 6....sorry bud..you have a bit of snow dome down there...it will be fixed before christmas.
I cleaned the driveway with good old shovel. Snow was very soft so it wasn't that difficult. While I was doing the cleaning, freezing rain started. Madison got roughly 6 inches by the way. Driveway is clear, cars are cleaned. I am ready for football Sunday. A Jets victory will make this weekend magical.
Can you imagine if you waited till tomorrow Brook? Freezing rain falling here hard. Major icing going on. This storm truly has had it all up for us. I walked on the grass part of the snow and its heavy soaked through after being fluffy soft. Freezing rain should end in about 2 hours for us..and about 3 to 4 in the city and north of us in the Hudson Valley. Small storm on Tuesday...1 to 3 maybe..might even turn to rain..then very cold temps for a couple days..then a nice weekend with temps in the 50's possible..before it gets brutally cold next week. Future storms on the horizon are for the 23rd/24th..and the 27/28th.
Again...have never seen this before in this state. 56 now in south jersey...and 14 in Sussex county...42 degree swing...same state. Amazing. LINK: http://forums.accuweather.com/uploads/post-15491-1387085644.png
well back in for the night. did the driveway and walks and its pretty much all sleet now. total about 8" i am guessing. few hours of sleep and then get the kids out to play. good job with this one jay, you had it coming the whole way.
Jay take a bow,,,,props to you. Nice job with this storm,,,,,,,now I am going outside to see about my ice / car situation,,,,,,,,if it is doable we have to get to the slopes / Hills later for some serious sledding and tubing,,,,,,unless its a sheet of ice then all bets are off.
Jay. Next week the 21st and 22nd. What travle going to be like from ME to NJ .. we got a nice.storm brewing rigt now.
i just hope everyone shoveled last night while it was dusty light snow and didnt wait till this morning after the heavy shit laid down on top of it. at least in my area in ct.
Quick hitting Alberta clipper FJF that will form another storm off the Jersey coast...I would think the 5 might be high..but then again...I took the day off and Im going by yesterdays models. This is a storm that will give many 2-4 right through then develops off the nj coast too late for us but heads towards MASS and Maine and some up there might get some much better totals. Grump...will check now but I didnt see anything huge that early. Thanks FJF and good job getting out to work that night..kudos bud! CBG..thanks..will take a baby bow for liking so far out but many did a great job because the models actually did pretty damn good...except for CMAN down south. I mentioned in a post during the week Im always worried about the most southern areas where the models depict the precip to add up because thats always a real possible bust...but CMAN will get his. Alley..great move..did the same. Quietly was chuckling watching the neighbors lift that crap. Only my buddy across the street did well...he watches me when I go out and always follows me..he is my biggest fan..lol. Green...yeah...that was always a chance with the way temps when crazy high last night...sorry bud. Will check models now..remember..we are rooting for christmas even snowstorm.
Do not see anything at all for the 21st 22 grump. Do see the models for Tuesday...I would still say 2 to 4..there might be an isolated 5 here and there in the Hudson Valley FJF. Now weird...see a frontal boundary set up that stall just north of us and this weekend we knew would be warm but now might get a few disturbances so might be rainy on and off this weekend. Didnt check much in between but looked at the long range GFS and that Christmas evens storm? Actually starts the 23rd...ends the 24th has on big question...cold enough? Will keep checking...will give an update tomorrow about Tuesday.
lol...nothing worse grump. Well..well..the models just showed a bit more snow...storm is a quick hitter but really gets stronger as it gets close to the coast. Will be back on later but several key models are showing .5 qpf..which means I think many in north jersey will be getting 4-6" out of this one. Brook...I smell another work frome day
