Saw this on ESPN NY today. "Probably No. 1, most likely," Richardson said of where he'd be selected in a redraft. "Kansas City? Yeah. I went into the draft thinking I'd be the No. 1 pick. I had a shot." http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/sto...richardson-new-york-jets-says-go-no-1-redraft
It's funny that the player that Jets fans didn't want ended up being the best player picked from the draft.
Most football fans don't follow D-line & O-line prospects in college unless a. They are hyped up by the media b. They play for the fans college team
Richardson also said Dee Milliner would have been Mr. Irrelevant, instead of a 1st round pick. Just kidding.
he was the first interior line player taken in the draft though.. i wish they just would have taken him with the 9th pick and somebody else with the 13th pick.. looking at the teams in front of us.. nobody needed a interior lineman...we really didnt either
richardson has played very well. it really hasnt shown to be a great first round as of yet. however lets all remember it takes 3 years to make or break a draft.
Now that I think abotu it you're right. This first round has been underwhelming in a lot of places. Star and Richardson might be the 2 best picks. Warmack has been good. Obviously it takes more time to judge them all but even the top 5 picks have been underwhelming compared to years past.
I just wish that Buffalo didn't screw us by trading with St Louis for Tavon Austin. No doubt he would have been the #9 pick if that didn't happen. Him + Richardson would have been perfect. It also would have been great for Geno. Although I think Milliner is beginning to get the hang of things and will be a top corner a couple years down the road. The best way I can describe Richardson, is he's a lion. He lies waiting, handling his business and then as soon as the RB makes his move, he pounces. I love watching him dive to the side to make those no gain plays. If can stay healthy, he'll be the future of the franchise. If he doesn't win defensive rookie of the year, I'll be shocked. Wilkerson is a big part of his success as well.
I hope this kid isn't gassing himself up by reading his press clippings and thinking he's "All World". Kid needs to prove it on the field. He needs to keep his mouth shut and pass the test of time. We've had enough big talkers on this team already. Rex, being a recovering Bigmouth, should talk to this kid and bring him down to earth again. The "Great Ones" last season after season while the talkers usually don't.
