Coming down steady in southeast Connecticut at 8AM. Temperature isn't low enough to get a lot of sticking yet. NWS says 2-4 inches today but I'm guessing it's going to look like less than that due to the temperature. Yesterday was worse because we got freezing rain instead and the roads were bad all morning.

I walked out to warm up car at 650..no snow. By the time I got in at 703 the roads were covered. The fast start here allowed it to stick. Roads horrible within half hour with only an inch of snow. I think your 2 to 4 is a great bet but towards central NJ...their predictions there are going to bust in a big way. Band has set up from phili to Jersey City...and its going to rain snow for about 3 hours there.
Not a pat on the back guy..lol...but yesterday I mentioned an area from philly to south of nyc in jersey where I saw on multiple models a band setting up. 33/34 degrees at 9AM and snowing steadily. We have white frosting on the ground and very messy roads due to the temperature. Could be worse, at least there's not much in the way of ice. This is one of those days where you really have to watch the back roads because if you dip into a hollow you could easily find 32 instead of 33 and a slick of newly forming ice.
Dead on. The good part about the storm for us up here was the start time..if this had started under total darkness for about 3 or 4 hours...it would have been worse. a bit over 2 here..so we hit the low number of the NWS but stll about 3-4 away where I thought it would end up. Areas to the south...different story...some areas in central NJ will get 8 to 10.
It has been snowing steadily in Manhattan for about 2 1/2 hours or so, but so far not a flake has stuck to the pavement.
Manhattan..its like a different animal all together. The heating it creates with all the concrete. Incredible. If thats the case SJ...it will never stick then today.
When storms start to tail down, the radar starts to empty out..sometimes it just goes west to east...and sometimes it just disappears.. Starting to see the radar dissapate ini northwest NJ and this is probably the beginning of the end. Could be wrong...will look to see if it fills back in but if thats the case, the storm has about 2 hours left. Much lighter snow here in York, PA. Figure another hour at most and its gone. Maybe 3inches on the ground.
Schools got out early,,,,roads are clear,,,,,,,but it appears to have stopped snowing,,,,,looks like not so bad here,,,a few inches,,,but looks done
One more heavier band heaing towards North Jersey in the next half hour and that should do it..if it does come through, we have about 3 now so 3 and a half. Lower totals than i though by about inch and half. So a win loss day...but the thing I couldnt figure out with some low predictions of 1 to 3 was the length of the storm. Started here at 7...became very light snow at 1130. Only less than 5 hours. Ok guys...we start looking to Saturday...right now its a real big storm but from CBG north looks to get the real big stuff because down here models say turns to rain. Plenty of time for changes for everyone but this is the first real noreaster of the year. Will have to watch.
