So the Pats lose to Carolina and all we hear about for a week is how they lost on a "controversial" call and Pats fans and the media whining. Yesterday the Pats won on two controversial calls- the onsides kick and then the pass interference call that was so much worse than the the call that went against them in Carolina. Yet all we hear about is the incredible comeback and how terrible the Gronk injury was. Nothing about the ridiculous PI call that handed them the win. And also no mention of the horrible grounding call on Cambell that the Browns had to overcome to go up by 12 with 2:30 left. No Pats fan should ever ever ever complain about a call again. No team has won more games with the help of the refs than the Pats in the last 12 years.
The OS kick was the right call, the PI wasn't but they still had nearly a minute left. do you think they weren't scoring anyway?
maybe they wouldn't have. I don't know and not really the point. point is they were given the ball at the one yard line and guaranteeing that they would. beyond that, on the Browns last completion before the FG, the Pats DB propelled himself at the Browns receivers head and looked to make slight contact. should have been an additional 15 yards for the Browns and a game winning kick, and yet the ticky tack refs don't throw a flag on it.
They have the football Gods on the field with them at all times... It is unreal how much shit goes their way.
I don't disagree w/ you, I'm kind of numb to it now. I would probably be livid if we were w/in a game or 2 of them and had a chance to catch them but we aren't.
I agree the call was horrible but it happened on first down. The calls in Carolina and NY were the final plays of the game. If that had been the final play we would have heard more about likely. It was a really bad call though but again it was first down with time left.
The PI call was expected at that point(absolutely bogus btw). The shots of Kraft celebrating like they earned that win were infuriating. Whatever. When they lose at home in the playoffs it will be sweeter.
http://ftw.usatoday.com/2013/12/tom-brady-pass-interference-new-england-patriots/ You're right, there wasn't PI in the end zone. It was at about the 6 yard line. It might have made a difference, but I'm guessing with 31 seconds at the 6 yard line, the Patriots do score.
The fix is in for the cheating scumbags again. The only worsr call in NFL history was when Walt Kraftman invented the tuck rule to reverse the most obvious fumble ever and hand the douchebags a superbowl***
You are calling this the second worst call in NFL history? Did you see the play? Actually, nevermind.
Saw it about 10 times. Not even remotely.pass interference. Just a way to hand Tammi the Fag a 49 yard gain and an another undeserved win for Satans Team We've seen the refs and the league bend over and spread their cheeks for the Sucksboro Scumbags every season since 2001-2 now. It is frankly a tired, lame old script. Maybe Patsdell should think of hiring the McMahons of the WWE to freshen up the scripting for the NFL
that's how I feel. the Pats are likely going to get the 2nd seed anyways and this will not alter anything significantly. if anything was to be be called it should have been a hold outside the end zone, which just makes the call worse. the ref didn't see any part of the play and still made a game deciding call. he missed the correct call and called a non-existent one. that is two calls he missed on one play showing how inept the ref was on that play. is it a fix for the Pats? no. is it shitty NFL officiating? absolutely.
First, the onside kick call was not controversial. It was clearly a good recovery after the Browns player touched it. The PI WAS talked about plenty! The Sunday night pregame crew discussed it and Peter King (supposed Pats lover) talks about it as a one of 4 bad calls on Sunday. ESPN has had a number of segments on it today. You don't want to hear it because it would rob you of another reason to cry and whine. BTW, it should have either been holding or PI at the 6 yd line. The ref, in real time, saw the DB with his left hand on the WRs shoulder and not looking back for the ball. It's not like that hasn't been called before. Also, on the grounding call, he never got the ball to the line of scrimmage, which the minor league announcing crew failed to notice.
The unnecessary roughness call in the endzone just before the onsides kick was pretty ticky tacky also. That was a hell of an onsides kick, though, can't overlook that.
A big reason why I am not as much of a football(sports in general) fan anymore. There are more and more picky rules every year, and they do not call them consistently. If anything it makes it easier for calls to sway a game. The new rules and basis for flags are so knitpicky, that they can find reasoning for calling one and not another. its fucking retarded, and the Pats are always on the gaining end of calls. I won't spend money or go out of my way to watch a rigged sport.
