    rain/sleet/snow line radar:http://www.accuweather.com/en/us/pennsylvania/weather-radar?play=1

Blue snow/red ice/green rain. Also you will see mixed with the green...bright yellow..that is heavy rain

Next radar is an actual hi def radar..much more accurate where the heavy stuff is. While it might not show anything where you are..it could still be coming down lightly. To the west and east of the center of the radar..could be blank too..its very accurate in its direct zone.

The DBZ on the left side gives you how strong it is by color. Ask me any questions you might have..refreshes itself but to get it started you might have to refresh: http://www.wunderground.com/radar/r...min=2&num_stns_max=9999&avg_off=9999&smooth=0

Heavy precip entering Morris county now..this precip will spread north and east and things should be pretty heavy for many on north jersey southern ny state from around 1115 until around 3am. How much of that will be sleet and snow? 1 TO 3 is a good guess for us locally but areas north could get 4-6. We will get less because of all the hard sleet that will fall for about one hour before all the snow.

Sunday night monday looks like a 2 to 5 thing before a changeover to sleet and then rain. Hopefully the changeover comes early enough in the overnight Monday morning so rush hour is not that bad. The start time is pushed back to around 8 pm so Jet game drive home should be cool.

Then about a week and a half ago, I was mentioning a storm to watch out for around the 12th...that storm has been pushed back several days and next weekend could be very interesting again...and again its temp thing of starting as snow...but will it changeover to rain? Big question because this could be a big storm.

LONG LONG range continues to show another 3 or 4 storms before Christmas...and then the pattern for the week of Christmas shows a real chance...real chance.

Weather blogs across the area are apologizing all over the place..some guys had 3-6 inches all the way to NYC...lol...the cold air got stuck around Scranton and made here below freezing...after the storm.

Here is one blogger who I will not name by name because he is soooo wrong all the time and constantly takes credit for calling Sandy a week before...when every model and their mother had the storm that far out.

Take a listen and see why I have no desire to make a blog:
Score one for Mother Nature. That was my worst bust of all time. Ever. At least I don't have to worry about driving to the grocery store in the morning. It appears that it never changed over here at all. It looks like it is over already and it was still supposed to be coming down. The models were wrong on the timing of the precipitation versus the cold air moving in. This time the snowfall projections of the European model were worst of all. Sorry everyone. I cut the projections of the most historically accurate model in half and was still 100% too high. It just shows you that no model is right and it was a real smack across the face to me. When you are wrong you are wrong.

Im sure he is a nice guy but every week he has a major noreaster hitting us 7 days in advanced only to say 3 days in advance the MODELS were wrong.

Bottom line is we move on boys and girls...and CBG if you remember about 5 days ago you brought this storm up to me seeing them talking about it on the local news...and Im always hesitant about storms that start as rain and end as snow. I cant count 5 on my hand where we got really good snow. The cold air coming in USUALLY drives the storm out as well. I saw last night around 8pm that the temps PA were still above freezing and I should have known right then and there it wouldnt make it in time.

So we move on...tomorrows storm still on...its opposite snow to rain and that happens all the time..the models are saying 2-5 before the changeover but I am not buying that anymore. They are overdoing the cold air early in the season like last night. My guess is 1-3 ...WILL BE a nice night tomorrow night to light a fire and enjoy.

Then Tuesday is a slight chance and all eyes turn to late weekend and this one has been on the radar for 10 days now...still there..still big. Lets see.

Sorry if I got your hopes up last night for a few inches..will give you some love Sunday night instead.

The south is getting hammered with wild temperature swings and the freezing rain and icy conditions those often produce.

    Jay

I will be at the Jets game, Do I need an umbrella for rain?

If snow, I will survive. I hate the rain.

Sorry guys...late night tonight..got in a bit late and just finished watching Rangers in 60...how the hell was that a goal?

Checking models as we speak...no umbrella without even checking Brook..I just read the NWS forecast and it has the snow starting much later in the evening..around 9. I looked at models around 3pm and it looked earlier than that so that surprises me..let me do a few minutes of browsing right now..first thing that caught my eye is the temps later this week...brrr..highs in the mid 20's towards Thursday. One second.

Ok..if you go exactly by the models for timing...it might be snowing by the time many leave the Jet game..well, unless you are leaving after the first half.

The snow starts to FALL FROM THE SKY at around 2pm..but the air is dry and cold, so it will not hit the ground until the surface moistens up enough. My guess is it actually starts between 330 and 430 pm.

Now from hour 25 (which is right from now..3:09 PM) until hour 38..or 409 am, it falls as frozen precip...snow first/sleet second mix freezing rain sleet and then a real brief freezing rain before it changes to rain totally around 4am.

So many variables if thats accurate or not. Does the warm air aloft push out the cold air on the ground faster or slower? I think it will hold on longer but not by much..say 6 am which would mean by then...a crappy rush hour for many.

From hour 38 to hour 42 it falls as plain rain..so not much to wash away...but not much to fall.

Local weather channel is saying a trace to 2". Why is that? Because every weather person is paranoid since the predictions were so off from Friday night.

What many feel to realize is that this is the exact OPPOSITE from the storm on Friday night..totally opposite.

I really think EVERYONE north of I80 and at least 5-10 miles west of I95 will get at minimum 3-4" FJF area might get closer to 5" IF...IF the storm doesnt switch over to all sleet faster.

Now areas over the NJ border into NY STATE will have a pretty good icing situation setup. I really think the storm will almost be over by the time its plain rain.

Again..this is a true NOWCAST...and I will be on all night tomorrow after around 8pm. This storm has much more potential to be ugly tomorrow night and very early monday morning.

Anyone driving around tomorrow night...be careful. The very cold temps overnight tonight and all day tomorrow will leave the roads ripe for the picking...any snow and sleet that falls will easily stick right away and accumulate.

Still checking to see if I missed anything.

Damn..Tuesday is such a close call...will keep an eye out but right now..anyone south of I 195...195..NOT 95 in south jersey might get some snow on Tuesday as the storm stays south of us.
