haha, bitter little turd that he is. Mediocre coach carried his entire career by Tom Brady. Asked about his tenure at Cleveland...and takes a pot shot at the Jets. “I was there for five years,” Belichick said of his time with the Browns, via the Boston Herald. “It was five important years in my life, for myself, my family and all that. Obviously, we’ve all moved on, and I have a job to do here and that’s where my loyalty is, to Robert (Kraft), the Patriots organization and this football team. So it’s no different than how I feel, honestly, about the Colts, or the Lions or the Broncos. I feel differently about the Jets. We won’t put them in that category.” Read more: http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...ks-gang-green-article-1.1537967#ixzz2mcSBv2Cn because we all know how badly the Jets treated him. He was originally hired as a smokescreen for Parcells. Everybody knew it, he knew and accepted it. When Parcells came aboard Belichick accepted his role as defensive coordinator(because let's face it NOBODY was hiring him as a head coach in 1997). When Parcells resigned, he got the head coaching job that he was promised. Somehow in his sick mind this is considered a slight, an injustice. Damn the Jets...such an awful employer. He acts as if the Jets withheld his salary or something.
He's a douche and a cheater. His legacy is forever tainted because of Spygate, a whistle that we blew. That's why he's so bitter at us.
I am seeing this everywhere? I take it as a compliment, it means he cares about us. I do know he hates us which I don't understand, maybe it was Steve Gutman's comments? but the guy who drove him away was BP.
I will always remember BB for what he is, a man who cheated the game... ...and on his wife. Keep it "classy" up there Belichick
My lord people it's just a rivalry comment, enjoy the fact that we have a rivalry with one of the best teams out there. Jets fans, players, and coaches have said the same year in year out. He didn't trash talk us, he just threw that in there (probably at the request of the NFL) to maintain a little bit of fire in what is currently one of the better NFL rivalries.
BP is the only reason he got his second chance. After the Cleveland debacle, he should've been a low level position coach, not an assistant head coach on a SB caliber team. If he didn't have BP as a friend and advocate he would've had a much longer and more difficult road back to becoming a HC. so if he feels "driven away" by BP, then that's just him being an asshole... I also don't understand any of his animosities towards the Jets organization. In a way they sent mixed messages I guess by making him take a back seat to BP for a few years, but who the fuck does he think he was that he would take that as a slap in the face? He was a disaster as a HC and was lucky to even be given that opportunity, of which they ask him to take a back seat to a more PROVEN SB winner - - who also happens to be his friend, mentor, not to mention a guy who gave him a favor when he was down and out. -oh, and they didn't do him wrong financially. They made him the highest paid assistant in the league, WITH a promise of becoming a HC (after Parcells builds the team up) AND they kept that promise. He has no reason to be upset with the Jets. He and his ego can go fuck off IMO.
I wonder why he hates the Jets so much. He's never actually stated why.... Is it because we tried to make him stay? I don't get it. Either way, fuck that jerkoff. 2010 was awesome and he is Coughlins bitch.
What I gathered from your post is we hired Belichick as HC first and then brought in Parcells when he became available. Is that what happened?
I hate the man but he has five Super Bowl appearances and 3 rings, he won 10 games with Matt fucking Cassel. He's a helluva coach to be honest, and I often wonder how different the Jets history would've been had he stayed coaching the Jets.
the timing was a little dubious, they hired Belichick as interim HC away from NE, while they pursued BP as a "consultant" but Belichick / everyone knew all along the real plan. and the Jets did him right by it http://www.nytimes.com/1997/02/05/sports/why-be-a-temp-for-belichick-loyalty.html best part of that article- the last statement "Now, they're back together in New York, with the Jets. ''For the long haul,'' Belichick said." I RESIGN AS HC OF THE NYJ -asshole
he owes his HOF HC career to: 1. Tom Brady 2. Bill Parcells 3. NY Jets it was probably the million dollar bonus we gave him to stay for the 1999 season even though no one wanted him to be their HC.
It was some sort of technicality. From what I remember Belichick was freed from NE first (the hot commodity that he was, presiding over a defense that was ranked middle of the league) The Jets wanted Belichick and they wanted Parcells, basically the whole old NYG infrastructure. They hired Belichick first because he was available first, but it was always known the Parcells would be the coach once he came aboard. btw I don't recall Bill Belichick even interviewing for any open coaching positions after 1997, 1998 (AFC Championship game season) and 1999. nobody wanted him.
if he had all the same people in place and we drafted Brady we'd have won multiple SBs, if he wouldn't have gotten Brady he would have been fired in 2-3 years and a DC somewhere today.
I don't know about that, if BB is here he probably has his staff in place that he took to NE plus we don't get an extra pick for BB and we probably don't trade Key so we don't have 4 1st rd picks and the luxury to take a QB in the 1st rd.
Not that he's not a great coach, nobody has that kind of sustained success without being extremely capable, but for fucks sake has he been blessed with transcendant talent over the years. Lawrence Taylor was instantly the best defenseman in the league by a fair amount the day he showed up to camp. And Brady, what else can you say?
It's worth discussing why he hates the Jets though. I would love to know what happened there. I'm sure the douchebag will write a book after he's done and reveal what happened.
