The best of the bunch and a real sleeper in my opinion is Brett Hundley. He is strong, smart, cannon arm, and is single handily winning games for UCLA with a bunch of scrubs. I would pick him up second round and have him sit for a year under a vet and learning from MM. He is in my opinion the future QB of the JETs
I think this could potentially end up being a great scenario depending on how he heals up, Mettenberger could potentially drop out of the 1st and 2nd round totally and be available to us later.
Listening to McShay this am on Mike & Mike, now that Mariota is staying, he has Blake Bortles--UCF-- as his second rated QB and a first rounder. Says he reminds him of Cam. I've never seen the guy play. Scouts Inc. has him listed as the number 14 prospect for the 2014 draft. Weird. _
He's been talked about as a top 10 to 15 pick if he declares. Not sure how you would consider him a sleeper.
I go to UCF, watched a lot of him. He's a good passer but his mechanics don't seem to be at the top of his class. He keeps the play alive and is very physical. Works off mostly slants and crossing routes, and has fast talented receivers. He's not a first rounder.
He's a sophomore. He's going to need big cojones to come out and maybe not get picked until the 4th round when he's likely a 2nd rounder at worst next year and probably a 1st rounder in 2015.
Kiper this am on Mike & Mike: He has 4 QBs now in the 1st round now that Mariota is out and Mettenberger is hurt Bridgewater, Manziel, Carr and Huntley (assuming he comes out) Had Mettenberger as a late 1st early second and that injury knocks him down a round to late 2nd early 3rd--said teams could treat next year like a red shirt year and get a good one He had AJ as and early 2nd rounder--not quite a late 1st Said he knew Kiper had Bortles as a first--so he said there could be a lot of QB activity rounds 1 and 2, depending on who comes out _
Definitely agree. Something that really impresses me is that he feels and often escapes the rush while (at least seemingly) always keeping his head looking facing downfield. While his transition might have some bumps, he's far more pro-ready than Geno, and could be a stud.
You're in luck--7:30 ESPN tonite--watch him carve up Rutgers. Noodle I agree--he is always looking downfield. _
Anyone agree of this assessment about Bridgewater? They believe he has fell off. http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...y-bridgewater-better-no-1-option-nfl-hot-read I think they are really reaching for it, an off-season program would allow him to bulk up to absorb the pounding. I think they are forgetting to mention how tough this guy really is. If that is the only thing holding him back, I would say that is a good thing.
Maybe he drops to us at 11? He's tough as nails and will bulk up to 220 in the pros--he has the frame for it-- but the guy has a magic arm. Having said that, if I had the choice of him or Mariota, not sure who I would have taken. Obviously Teddy is more pro ready but I think they are BOTH going to be great QBs in the NFL. _
The questions about Bridgewater's ability to take an NFL pounding are real. There is an argument for him going back to school and putting on some more muscle next season. He's likely the 1st QB selected at this point and most likely in the top 10, so there's a real financial incentive for him to come out. I would not be surprised if he decided to stay at Louisville for another year despite that incentive. He really is a good QB prospect. He doesn't have a lot of questions about his play, only about his ability to take NFL heat at this point. Barring an injury he's unlikely to drop much in the 2015 draft if he stays in school.
If he falls to the Jets, I will have tears of joy. He has the Steve McNair in him I believe - NcNair was one TOUGH QB. Prob the toughest SOB next to Favre. Teddy definitely needs to get to the 220 mark, that can easily happen in one or 2 off-seasons - just don't put it all on at once - gotta make sure his magic arm can adapt to the weight  I just love Teddy's story growing up, the leadership ability he has. He's been through a lot family wise - he's got great character.
All he needs to do is put on the weight though. He's 200 now, he could easily get to 210-215 or so by the time he starts his first game in the NFL. He's played injured in college football and it didn't look like he missed a beat. I doubt he drops because of his weight like you said - I don't really see any incentive to stay in school - it's almost like Matt Leinart but a more talented / MATURE player.
