I could live with that, but at this point i want a QB and it would suck seeing all of them go right before us i want Manziel or Carr at this point.
I think if we don't pick offense in first round this year there will be riots in the streets. I would be happy getting one of those guys though, I will be happy as long as we get a very talented player at a position of need(wr,qb,te,og,olb,s,cb)
I totally agree, but right now I'm not a huge fan of Mike Evans, he seems like a guy who makes a large majority of his plays off of Manziel's magic and broken play ability, and where we are picking, probably a little earlier around #7, we might not be able to get my favorite guy Sammy Watkins or a Marquis Lee, so I wouldn't reach on a Mike Evans or a Jace Amaro or Eric Ebron, but get a stud in a Khalil Mack out of Buffalo. Also I truely hope we sign a bunch of skill guys, atleast a couple WR (maybe Maclin or Decker), a TE (Fred Davis), and a solid corner (Sam Shields or Aqib Talib or Captain Munnerlynn)
If much rather sign alterraun verner at corner. Tennessee is quoted in saying they Arnt going to retain him because he doesn't fit the system well, he is 2 years younger than talib, and doesn't seem to be a locker room issue like talib is in a sense
You would think he would cost a lot more money, because he is younger, better, and has no known legal issues. I would too, but I want quantity or quality, we need a lot of good football players instead of a few very good ones, not at a point to make a huge splash move like him or Jimmy Graham
Ideal 1st rd pick. Would love it. Were Kendall Wright, and Josh Gordon products of RG3? Manziel is helped by Evans just as Evans is helped by Manziel. You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.
Yeah, Evans is the real deal. There is no way you can possibly watch some of the catches he makes and think that it isnt solely because he just a straightup beast. He reminds me of Calvin in his ability to go up and get the ball. He isnt as explosive, but the guy is insane at coming down with the ball. If we dont go QB, Evans would be my realistically ideal pick as well.
I would love to pick up Verner, especially if we lose Cromartie. But back on topic, I bet Mike Evans, Marquis Lee, or Sammy Watkins will be available wherever we pick. People might disagree with me, but I wouldn't mind trading up for Watkins. Depending on the asking price, of course. I wouldn't mind giving up the Buccs pick if it meant we got Watkins. He could be the next Julio Jones, which would be a huge boost for our offense. I know people say don't draft for need, draft for BPA, but I think we pretty much need to go offense here. We could make our defense as good as we want, it won't matter if we score 3 points a game. Fortunately a receiver will likely fall where we pick and it won't be a reach
There are two ways we need to approach this draft. A. Draft a QB in the first, then get offensive weapons in the 2nd and 3rd. B. Keep Geno and draft wepons for him but also take a QB as an insurance policy. Geno has had a lack of weapons. Get him some and see how he does.
Why can't B also be A? Get a bunch of offensive weapons at 2, 3a, 3b, 4, 5, 6, 7 and all the comp picks. Take a QB in the first and he's either better than Geno or a super backup. You got a bunch of weapons AND a potential franchise QB. Everyone seems to think we'd be missing out on a whole lot of offensive weapons if we go QB in round 1. It's ONE player- not 3 or 4- it's ONE. _
I'd be pumped with a top receiver prospect, if not going WR in first round I'd be cool with Jarvis Landry in the second.
What if your starter isn't good and you are missing out on a good one? You still can take a bunch of WRs and TEs and RBs and Olineman 2-7 and comps. This way at least one of your QBs could be good. Taking a flyer on a QB in the 6th as insurance is basically throwing away a 6th (please, no Brady hyperbole). _
