Yes...this sucks. He was, ironically enough, one of the few bright spots.

His career could very well be over which is the saddest part because this guy played with heart and is an all time great special teams player.

It was definitely obvious he lost a step but he still had more then most people thought. The guy is made of glass though so it wasn't too shocking that he is already hurt. Story of his career....

If we somehow get Jake Matthews in the draft it will all be worth it.

This is what I was thinking too. The Jets were his last stop and now something like this happens? Writing is on the wall and life is indeed sending a message that it's time to move on.

You are upset that the player we brought in specifically for his special teams talent was used on special teams?

I don't agree. He was mediocre on special teams not one really decent run back and no threat to break one. He was ok on the wildcat but not a real factor. He does not have the wow factor he used to have a few years ago when he was a star player on Cleveland. I hope this new guy give us something better in terms of returns and field position.

this sucks. I thought Cribbs was a very solid ST contributor for us, and a good vet to have around. one of the few bright spots really.

hope he's got one more comeback in him..

I'm not sure what you consider decent, but he had punt returns of 15, 21, 16, and 16 yards, and had kickoff returns of 36, 42, and 35. Those aren't game breakers, but I consder them at least pretty decent.

I looked up his stats. They were better than I thought. He was on punt returns 6-96-21 and on KORs 20-490-42. My impression watching him was that he was below average at least for him and no threat to break a long one. I still kind of feel that way but the stats again aren't too bad.

Used as a gunner? Yes. A punt returner/ kick returner, is a different story that's an important playmaking position that goes to his strength. But Cribbs was in as a gunner on Special Teams and IMO that was just stupid.
