I disagree. IMO Rex is anything BUT a fine HC. He may be a fine DC, but he sure isn't a fine HC. His teams are too inconsistent, fail to show up too often, he's too conservative and passive, coaches scared, and still can't handle the clock or offense. He needs to go.

All I want to know is what changed so much after that bye week? Is this still the same team that upset the Saints and the Patriots?

Yep -- when Geno completed 7 passes that traveled 7 yards in the air against the saints teams basically said ummmm let's just crowd the line because all they do is run and hope geno can throw a screen.

It's funny how, after that first Buffalo game, I thought that Geno and MM were going to build a great offense -- the ball distribution was great, WRs were making plays, Santonio was amped throwing down defenders. That game seems like it was years ago at this point, like it wasn't even part of this season. So, yes, if Rex loses 4/4, and they're bad losses, it's hard to see Idzik giving him more time. However, if the team ends up 1-3 or 2-2 down the stretch and they're still fighting hard, it's entirely possible that Idzik will give Rex one more year.

If Geno is being forced on Rex and they aren't drafting a QB in 2014 you bring rex back so see what he can do with better skill players and a veteran QB on a 1 year audition deal.

If he fails he is fired and a new staff comes in with the goal to draft a new QB.

Nothing changed. History began to repeat itself once again.
Rex Ryan's record after the bye week is terrible.
Come to think of it,.....his record after the bye in November & December last 3 years is 8-13.

Absolutely right. The Buffalo game was as big an indictment of Ryan as a head coach that you could have. His team, surprisingly, was in the playoff hunt, and coming off a bye facing a team that was mediocore at best, and the team simply did not show up. It was bad in all facets of the game. Remember, we are not talking about a rookie coach here, Ryan is in his 5th season. This has happened a number of times during his tenure.

And last week, against Miami, the team looked like it was sleepwalking and just going through the motions. This for a coach that supposedly players "will run through a wall for". You can knock the talent level all you want, and it is poor, but when a team doesn't appear to be trying or looks like it has given up, that is a coaching problem. A BIG coaching problem.

QB play has regressed and it has nothing to do with the coaches. David Lee and MM are huge upgrades over last year at their positions. Geno is a rookie with a poor cast of players around him and we are having a down year on the OLine. The Defense is collapsing because they are playing too much.

Our Offense isn't even competitive against typical D's and we are again injury plagued. Loosing Goodson for 4 weeks and then to injury was a huge blow in the running game. Santonio going down again, Kerley, now Cribbs, and most of all Sanchez.

Lets not forget Mark is not a good QB, but throwing Geno to the wolves is repeating the mistakes this team made with Sanchez to begin with. Geno should have ridden the pine this year and waited in the wings until Mark failed again. The Jets FO is ruining yet another QB.
