if they lose the rest, rex has lost the team and we need to start all over again at start of season I would have settled for 5 wins --but after going 5-4 got to feel jets are on their way-------but got killed by cincy Tennessee and pitt-----it showed jets have many problems but if jets lose last 4 coupled with previous 3 -----jets lost last7 and all his deficiencies are out there for all to see
i think it's extremely comical how we went 5-4 through the toughest stretch of our schedule and now we might not win a game in our easiest stretch
I think if the receivers can remain fairly healthy, we will get back on track. Getting Kerley back this week helps tremendously. I don't see us losing the rest of these games. With that said. If we don't reach at least 8-8 this season, after the start we had, I will be extremely disappointed.
Yeah its hilarious. When Jets were 5-4, I laughed at my 6-10 prediction. My prediction could end up being right.
It's Rex's O you should be concerned with because no matter how good the defense is, you still have to outscore the other guy.
Well looking at the last 3 weeks, we've lost to a rookie QB (Manuel-2 TDs) and a 2nd yr. QB, while scoring 14, 3 and 3 points. With our offense now in free fall, you can throw the Rex vs. rookie out the window imo. Nothing's a given.
Well, EJ Manuel threw 20/28 245 yards and 2 TDs a couple weeks. That's a pretty good game against us. Russel Wilson threw 12/19 188 yards and 2 TDs last year against us. Pretty efficient. Also ran the ball 7 times for 34 yards.
It will be a damn shame if we fire a good coach like Rex Ryan because he couldn't win with a bunch of CFL fodder.
1. Jets do need better supporting cast. Specifically, I'm talking about Mike Devlin (OL), Sanjay Lal (WR) and Tim McDonald. I still think Jets can do better with: BVG (LB), Ben Kotwica (ST) 2. Forget playoffs. Forget everything. This Jets were billed for 3-13. They certainly out-performed their seasonal expectation from nearly everyone. You should be grateful for that. [And two ref calls that singlehandedly snatched the victory from the jaws of defeat against TB and NE.] 3. What matters now is how this Jets team perform. We all knew the offense WILL stink - and that part didn't disappoint us. The defense played lights out more often than not. With better players in LBs and secondary, along with better coaching, this defense will remain the staple of the team. This potential is clearly there. 4. Like I said, the personnel decision is on GM, not HC. This team lost team depth in a course of half a decade - and it won't be resolved in a year either. Blame Rex all you want, but you can't blame Rex for the personnel woes of offensive part. Somebody not named Rex tore the offense up when Sanchez had a lot of good going with Bray, and the running game was functional. If T-Bomb was the cap wizard he was claimed to be, he should have come up with ways to keep the nucleus together for at least a few years. 5. Look at Seattle. They look pretty damn good now, but they didn't get there in a heart beat either. They looked like total shit before Pete Caroll arrived, and even with Pete, they had a few lackluster season before they broke out. [I think two.] Clearly, they had to take some time stocking the roster. Same will apply with the Jets.
I will give u that he has to have had input in building the roster, but it's clear they were in transition this year and not looking to contend based on their offseason activity. Because of that, I don't think it would be fair to can him after this year. He's already gotten more out of this roster than I expected.
I don't disagree with the OP but I do think how the team shows up in the last month matters. The worst thing about the game on Sunday was that Geno Smith looked out of it early on, like he'd given up after that first dogpile. That cannot happen moving forward. I was hoping we'd belatedly hear that he had played with the flu or something because that's what it looked like early on. If the QB gives up everybody gives up. So I'm hoping Geno is back on the ball good results or not this weekend. Other than that if the Jets look competitive in the last month, like they are really trying, Rex is going to get credit for that. If they look like they are mailing it in, well that's going to be a huge issue.
All. And both 1st rounders were defense. Clearly that's Rex Ryan pick. He ALWAYS picks defender in 1st round. ALL THE TIME.
This is what it means to be a Jets fan Unpredictable, wild ups and downs, and mostly gut wrenching frustration Thank god I was born in the Bronx and naturally became a Yankee fan My yankee yin to my jets yang
OP, You said If like there was a chance of us maybe winning. I lost that feeling after the Buffalo game.
