The moment Kerley got hurt with his elbow, the offense has been struggling to get in the endzone and on the scoreboard. The JETS better improve the offense at all costs because defenses are just stacking the box and the current group of targets can't get it done. When the freaking slot receiver on this team is the most reliable target, this team has a way to go. Whoever is the starting QB next season, I pray he has some legitamate threats that will keep the opposing teams defenses honest.
Kerley is a good player, but not so good that he would be the reason our offense is stalling. It starts with the QB and trickles down. I really thought Geno had some balls when we drafted him, but all he has proven is that he is afraid to make mistakes and that he is just not ready. I'm by no means giving up on him, but he needs to show something. The guy looks worse than Blaine Gabbert right now.
I wouldn't say Geno is afraid to make mistakes, it's more so the opposite because he is trying to make a play when nothing is there and just throwing the ball into tight windows and being seconds late. He doesn't have the timing down with most of the receivers that are healthy, and Kerley seems to be his only security blanket. Don't you at least find it ironic that after Kerley got hurt the offense has stalled and just looks pathetic for the most part?
I would love to look at the Jets 3rd down conversion rate over the past 4 games. I beleive I remember seeing that Kerley generated over 50% of our 3rd down conversions.
I've not seen him make a good throw into a tight window yet. He holds the ball forever and waits until a receiver had 5 yards of separation. That rarely happens in the NFL and Geno is finding out the hard way by taking some hard hits and throwing the ball late, where it often gets picked off. Kerley's absence has definitely hurt the offense, no doubt, but he is no Megatron if you know what I mean. Geno has to be able to look for more than one guy, especially on third down.
The funny thing is we got Holmes back about the same time. We were scoring points without Holmes and now that he is back… Blow it all up on offense.
Kerley is no Megatron or even Optimus Prime lol, but when guys like Winslow don't see the field and can be productive and question why he's not getting enough reps, and when he does get on the field he can and does produce, I just wonder what the heck is going on with this offense.
I am interested to see if/where Holmes lands another team. I think he will most likely find a team, but I doubt it's a contender (people on here were saying the Pats; there is no fucking way). I'm thinking Jax, or somewhere on the west coast.
Oh I could see him landing on the Patriots...that would be PERFECT Jets luck. to add insult to injury Holmes is supremely more talented than Welker ever was...oh yeah, I could see Holmes out of the slot up there and then I would just have to rip my own face right off! :drunk:
There is no way. No, he is not more talented than Welker. I don't know what you guys see in Holmes? :breakdance: As far as production goes Holmes is an absolute dog. He is now injury prone, never breaks a tackle and his best days as an athlete are far behind him. Comparing Holmes and Welker is laughable (Welker has guts). Holmes stock is at an all time low. You don't bring a dog of an athlete to a team prime to win a championship. Holmes finds 1-2 more seasons in this league and than it's off to find a job in everyday America :up:
That certainly would be forever since we don't have any WRs capable of getting even a yard of separation.

I said it in another thread. Once Kerley went down, we lost the ability to convert third downs. Prior we were actually pretty good at converting. That had made this offense so much worse. We are essentially a two down offense. If we don't pick it up in two downs we don't convert third. Does somebody have the numbers on this? Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N900A using Tapatalk
