Sanchez and Simms were both found by Tannenbaum. When Idzik says competition it's between QB's that Idzik brought to the program.

True but we also wouldn't have wasted our 2 on a QB and MAYBE would have grabbed a WR or TE...should haves and could haves...gotta love them.

Holy dog snatch!!!! I just saw the "Geno to Start". (yeah I'm slow today)

Yes sir...this is the way you lose your team. I saw our defense basically gas itself in the first half yesterday and essentially "mail it in" midway through the third.

Ryan clearly has no intention of wanting to keep his job...UNLESS Idzik told him he was going to keep it IF he started Geno. No two way to explain it.

As to the OPs question, I see no chance for the Jets to win this game, you have to score points to win, if the Jets can't manage one touchdown I don't see how they can win any games from here on out.

That said the defense must be irate, there must be a ton of tension in that locker room right now. But there are no leaks? Which basically proves the "source" last year was McElroy, Pettine, one of the guys who are gone.

The offensive line and targets didn't help or play up for Simms when he got into a 6-0 game.

Oakland is the last vulnerable defense we have on the schedule before facing some really good defenses like Carolina and Cleveland(Though Jacksonville put up some crazy points on them yesterday). The ball in theory can be moved but this offense lacks the firepower, talent or consistency at every position to do so.

I'm begging Kerley makes it back for this game.

Hehhhh...I don't know if I'd call Oakland's defense "vulnerable" when you mention the NY Jets Offense in the same sentence. But point well taken.

As bad as the defense looked, mailing it in in the 3rd...Geno mailed it in in the 1st. No way in flying bat shit would he get the start on any team I coached on that merit alone.

This doesn't look like a train wreck at this point...this looks like what would happen if the "Death Star" fell onto another planet!

Apparently Simms wasn't given ANY 1st-team reps all week long.

That right there is a piss poor job by Rex, which carried over to Simms' bad play. That's why I was hoping to see him get a full weeks worth of practice with the 1st-team, and then see how he fairs on gameday.

The Jets are the WORST team in the NFL. No question, Houston would blow them out right now if they played. Any team would. They are a complete disaster. I stopped watching a game for the first time in my life yesterday. I think you would be a bad fan to actually continue watching. By watching, the Jets think they are doing something right. I expect an empty Met Life Stadium Sunday. That is the way it should be. Worst product the NFL has to offer right now. Complete disgrace. If you don't feel like me, I don't know what kind of fan you are. The team hasn't competed, that's right, COMPETED in a game in over a month. Awful.

If the idiot convention, aka The coaching staff Rex Chairman, really believed these last few games yesterday included were important why did they not put Simms in sooner and why is he not starting next week.
Is he the answer I doubt it , but he does allow the defenses of the opponents to have an uncertainty as to what he can and will do, the defenses have not had any time to prepare for him. Does Rex and Marty know why the Jets ran the ball so well when Simms went in for the first series, the fish did not have 8 or 9 men in the box they were not sure what he would or could do.
Geno had great games early on then the defenses figured him out and he can't and probably won't be able to do anything when the D prepares for him.
Up until Powell dropped the ball they ran the ball well again, after the fumble it was over for Simms.bhind by that many.

Rex says that Geno gives us the "best chance to win". Seems like Rex is always saying something to that effect when he doesn't want to make a change.

Well, if Rex wants to turn Geno Smith into Joey Harrington or David Carr, so be it. Given Rex's stellar record of developing young Qb's, I don't see any reason to doubt him. Hell, with this juggernaut of an offense, the sky is the limit. So far, Geno has proven Rex's ability to spot offensive talent to a tee.

We need weapons first, then a QB. I like Jeremy Kerley and Stephen Hill for the future, but we need a #1. I don't think Hill will reach his potential for another season or so and I don't think Kerley can be a much more than a very good slot receiver. Holmes is dead weight. Chris Ivory and Bilal Powell are both solid backs, but we need to upgrade the guard positions badly if we ever want them to reach their full potentials. Our TEs are sorry. Cumberland is fast, but can't catch or block worth a shit. Winslow is just old and can't play anymore. The offense as a whole is just unbearable to watch. I don't want a new QB until the we get some upgrades across the board.

The Raiders will beat us 10-3 because the offense, again, will not score a TD.

We've been totally inept the last 3 weeks, but if this team can somehow return to the way they were playing before the bye, we can win this one.

Play like before the bye, and this team can win 4 straight.

Play like the last 3 weeks, we will lose out.

I really don't understand what changed so quickly during the bye week. The loss of Jeremy Kerley definitely hurt, but THIS much?

We were never a good team. I think the only complete game this season was in Atlanta

I'll watch the game because it's the Jets, but what chance do they have with Geno? You know if fans are feeling this players are probably in the same boat. If you are on the team and you know Geno is playing you know the odds of the offense scoring 10 points is next to nothing.

I think Geno should sit for at least a game, but I'm not gonna lose my mind over the decision to start him. He's likely the only QB with the potential to be a legit starter on the roster, he's been a part of five wins. There's a case to be made for sticking with him.

This is it, Jets gotta win out now. Not that they are going to but this is going to be the last meaningful game of the 2013 season unless we can get a win and delay it for another week.

God some of you guys are so depressing its hard to read this stuff. Kerley should play ,The Raiders have lost there last 11 straight East Coast games. Its gonna be pretty cold on Sunday no warm Oakland sun.Rex has a great record against rookie QBs.The Raiders wont stand a fuckin chance.I say Jets have a bounce back win 28-17

You lost all credibility when you included Hill and future in the same sentence....
