My bad you are right Hershel was in the comics, but his storyline is so different

Yeah almost every storyline is different. The characters they decided to kill off, or to let live- they've purposefully strayed from the comic.

One character I wish they had kept was Shane- he was such a perfect foil for Rick.

Oh, and of course Merle.

Merle went off and got himself a starring gig in the next Marvel film Guardians of the Galaxy. I think he is happy.

Agreed. This season needed a kick start like that.

Creating empathy for the governor eh? Hmmmmm. Part of me wonders if he will turn face and team with Rick eventually. He is batshit insane, though. I honestly thought that episode would end with him killing the family.

One question, maybe I just missed it or I was too baked at the time:

How did the governor get away from his other 2 friends? I remember them all chilling around the camp fire, then all of sudden he's alone and has a beard. Did he wander off intentionally?

What I really want to see is the guy who found him to turn on the governor and start interrogating him in the pit about shooting his own people, while the little girl watches in horror.

I think his two bitches got tired of protecting him so they went about their business.

Another really good Governor episode and it all leads up to an exciting Mid-season Finale! I expect the 2nd half of the season to be really strong.

The return of the governor saved this season for me. And he is much better this season than last. He isn't one-dimensional like he was last season where he was just an asshole.

SPOILER ALERT - If you have not watched this week's episode.

I can't believe no one has posted about last night's episode yet. I thought it was fantastic.....very reminiscent of the Season 2 finale. Destruction of a safe haven and scattering of the key players. Should set up an interesting second half of the season.

Sad to see Hershel go, but his death will have important implications on the group. No way Judith is dead....but I'll be impressed if she is. Expect to see Carol meet up with one of the groups of survivors. Nice end to the Governor arc.

insanely nice episode...The obliteration by Governor of Herschel was crazy...So much went down...Cant wait for February.

In the comics, Governor gets pretty messed up too...He does cut off someone's head (not herschel though)

Great mid-season finale! Sad seeing the Governor go, but he went out the way that he should. Hershel's death was also sad, but both expected for awhile. Very excited to see what happens now.

    RIP to the Prison Era.
