smith isn't done... okay, THIS YEAR he's done, should he get another start its for tape and nothing more but I can not and WILL NOT accept the notion that this is all he has for the rest of his career.

a rookie year, despite some misconception to the contrary, is not indicative of ones ceiling. EVER. especially given what he has.

now he can't be an unquestioned starter next year, which sucks since i think he can use the reps, but he should still be given a chance under better circumstances.

To put things in perspective if you put any one of next years touted rookie class on this years team how well do you think they do? be honest, they'll probably struggle just as much as Smith has, maybe doing a bit better if they run a little more.

Its clear he's played poorly but everything seems to come back to a WR corp that can't get open or reliably catch. I won't give any final judgment on Smith until he has this, because of course he's nothing like last years rookies; unlike them he had nothing to lean on for support.

He ain't got shit on offensive side for help. It's all THEIR fault.

    [Gulp!]

P.S. I was told this putrid QB named Daunte Culpepper once posted Probowl quality stats when he played for the Vikes.

[Enough of that no-calibre player bullshit. Same logic works the other way too.]

I like to know which rookie QB could have possibly succeeded with our offense this season.

Geno is a rookie, and it's not all on him.

We had some pretty good talent at QB in 2008, actually.

25 38 252 1TD 4INT's. That's the same guy in a home playoff game the same year when he's running game was stopped.

Is it just me or has Geno been awful since he took that hit against Buffalo on the first series? He seems to be more scared in the pocket.

I have no idea, absolutely none why we cannot draft decent quarterbacks

No NFL caliber starting QB misses throws like he did yesterday.

That isn't the line, or the wideouts, it's straight out suckitude.

    Bullshit.

Sanchez didn't get that slack in 2012, and he didn't have a legit OC.

Being a rookie does not excuse missing a wide open Nelson, by 5 yards, multiple times.

He was good in college against bad teams.

He was below average against defenses with a pulse.

He played in a gimmick system known for QBs putting up big numbers in college but failing in the Pros.

But why should a pro organization pay attention to trends/advanced stats. After all, we "won the draft with great value!", bc getting a player below where they were slotted in the draft is more exciting than getting a good player, according to some here.

Of course, Sanchez was a fourth year rookie in 2012. There is a difference.

Bottom three QBs in completion percentage: Keenum, Weeden, Geno.

ALL THREE PUT UP GIGANTIC NUMBERS IN THE EXACT SAME AIR RAID SPREAD IN COLLEGE.

    Coincidence?

How the fuck is it that I can from my couch know this shit but guys paid 6 figure and above salaries to be on point with this type of evaluation can't????

Been screaming these points about Geno the Joke since the moment he was drafted. Goddammit wtf did people think was going to happen?

By your logic Sanchez gets a pass but not Geno? Are we gonna forget all the missed throws by Sanchez?
Geno sucking doesn't mean that Sanchez was good. It just means we need to find a good QB. Not go back to another shit QB.

All this proves are that fans are complete idiots, plain and simple...

How many here had lauded the idea of their hero rookie QB being the best candidate to give the Jets a winning chance?

After 12 games do we need to say anymore?

Not to say Mark would have done better, but I would have no doubt felt he was the better of the 2 THIS SEASON!!!

Now the crybabies are forming the lines....no surprise there.

The stupid fans are those that want to get rid of people without having any realistic plans for replacing them.

Sanchez was an above average starting QB. We won playoff games with Sanchez and made it to 2 championship games. Yes, that's above average.

Finding someone who is better than above average is not easy. And clearly, Geno Smith is not above average.

Also there is no one better than Rex available so let's stop talking about firing him. If Rex gets fired we're going back to the years of no playoff appearances.

Nick Foles came from the Air Raid spread offense in college, why is he doing a good job?

Keenum has been very good this year, why just single out just one of his stat lines?

    You're joking, of course...

No need to fire Rex...we're already there.
