I predicted this loss...smelled it in the wind. You can kiss next week's game goodbye too. Oakland looks, at the very least, like a proficient football team. I'll keep my Simms comments to the Simms threads. This could be the end of Rex Ryan.
If we stay at 5 wins we should be in great position for one of the so called top 5 QBs comin out in the draft next year.
fuck that shit. Seriously? fuck that shit. I don;t want another rookie next year, especially if they nothing to throw to. not in 2014, I want a WR!!! Garb a veteran QB NOT named Sanchez and spend on some of the FA WR's coming out. this team is so devoid of talent right now... we should actually try to address that instead of not fixing the problem by moving laterally to another rookie QB thats gonna take time to adjust to the pro game.
I second going after a vet next year. Maybe we can make a KC like turnaround. I'd really like to have Cutler. Go out and draft/sign some good players, add depth to the oline and see what happens.
I mentioned this in another thread some time ago. We BLEW our wad in missing on Alex Smith. In today's NFL guys like him are going to be rarer than trying to draft a franchise QB. Smith was/is still young, had a ton of experience, really hadn't sustained too terrible injuries, was benched while on TOP of the league and proved that he could excel with a decent Offensive Coordinator. NO ONE in the league, who would be available, fits that description. Especially a guy like Cutler. That is assuming anyone is available. Anyone who is available is not going to be worth shit. Nope, there is not a single potential FA QB out there that I would waste a single damn dime on. We are stuck with the youth movement. You can take THAT to the bank.
Probably a loss, time to start looking ahead to the draft. I'm fine with drafting another QB, didn't want to draft one in 2013 anyway. Had we done it my way we would have got some WR/TE help early on. Probably tanked the season and could have got Bridgewater or some other top QB prospect. At least then we'd have a rookie QB coming in to something as far as offense is concerned. The way they did it they Drafted a rookie QB to come in and play with nothing and now have to draft rookie WR/TE to come in and play with either Smith or whoever they bring in to replace him (probably not Sanchez).
There is no right or wrong way to build a team. I mean look at Tannehill last year, he had no weapons and yet he was serviceable.
If it wasnt a bye week for me i'd pick up OAK defense. Thank you Dolphins and the 15+ Points for today.
There isn't a QB available that could live behind our OL. If we aren't drafting offensive line high, we need to draft a QB with a 2.4 nanosecond release. Raiders win by 14.
How can anyone talk about drafting another QB when we have some SERIOUS SERIOUS problems at OL and WR. Lets get that fixed first
we wont win another game this season with our offense - I am already planning what to do now all my Sunday evenings are going to be free.
Best case scenario we land a real top flight receiver first round like Mike Evans or Sammy Watkins and Aaron Murary is available 2nd round because of his ACL injury and we take him.
Did you ever think Simms was gonna get a fair look? That's almost as believable as the Jets having a open Qb "competition". I'm glad they're going back to Geno. This should prove once and for all that the Jets cannot develop Qb's. Besides, this can only help our draft position.
