That is the only thing the 2009 Jets and 2013 Jets have in common

Blah, blah, blah. No we are not a big part of the team, not even of the organization. What we are, are customers. Nothing more. All the misguided first person plurals are nonsense; grow up and face the facts. When you got out of high school that attitude that you were part of an organization like this should have gotten out of your head. NFL teams are businesses, you can choose to be a patron, you can buy the hat and put the sticker on your bumper but you'll never be more to the organization (third person) than you are to McDonald's when you buy that Big Mac.

Oh, the shattered dreams of childhood.

Maybe we've learned over the last forty years to know when to hold 'em and know when to fold 'em. If lightning strikes, we'll still be around and we'll be back next year to see the Same Old Jets. We still believe that some year we'll be surprised, but it just ain't this year.

Problem with the premise of comparing this to 2009 is the Jets don't have nearly the running game or the defense they did that year. Nor will they likely have multiple teams mailing it in at the end of the season on their schedule cause they want to get ready for the playoffs.

No, the season's not over because the conference is so bad this year but this game against the Dolphins is clearly an elimination game for whoever loses.

You are my favorite poster on this site. Have to agree, btw. Somehow I let myself get excited after the Saints game even though deep down I knew.

Season's over fellas. It's ok. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. We found out a few things. Our D line is young and good. We don't have an active NFL caliber QB. Our offense needs help and our secondary sucks.

Yeah you should have lost a few games but for last second gifts by the other team, but what's done is done. Looking forward to the rest of the season, I looked at all the teams remaining schedules who are in contention for the wild card. I see some loses in there that will knock teams out of the running. However, the teams I like most to win out, or, who at least have no guaranteed losses remaining to me were (1) Baltimore (2) NY Jets and (3) Buffalo (only problem is they're a game behind, and NE is probably a guaranteed loss).

It doesn't matter how crappy the Jets have played this year, if you win these next games that you should win, it could be playoff time. Looking at the Jets schedule, they could legitimately win out. That has to be encouraging.

Playing for pride, and jobs I'm afraid. We definitely need some offensive weapons next year. With the Revis picks, and the cap room things should get better. I just hope that we don't pursue s free agent QB.

Would you continue to go to McDonald's if every time you went all you got was a really bad hamburger followed by hours sitting on a toilet?

Customers are very much part of management's equation.

Sorry to say you are totally delusional IMHO since if management really/truly cared about us the fans Woody would have produced a winner during his ownership. As for Hess he could have cared less about winning until he was told he was terminal & brought in BP to win one B4 he went to another place

Krystal Burgers has to be the worst, how do they stay in business? They are the Jaguars of the fast food world.

Delusional is thinking it's not part of the equation. The fans obviously financially support the team even though they aren't producing great football.

You have no idea how management would react if the fans stopped going to games, buying jersey's and turned off their TV's.

One of the reasons the NFL has watered down the product, expanded the playoffs and otherwise promoted mediocre teams being in the hunt for a SB is based on exactly that equation. Fans around the league including Jets fans have bought into the being competitive is good enough.

There are other teams that have had long SB droughts, sure, but I think you are about 15 years late on the assumption that lots of teams haven't been to a SB. In the past decade and a half quite a few teams have made it and the list of teams without a SB appearance has grown rather small.
