Our recent struggles running the ball have everything to do with our crappy QB play.

Geno is dragging the offense down the drain.

Exactly. IF you have no faith in him he needs to be pulled. Rex needs to man up and pull the trigger.

I can't imagine that Rex and Marty are calling the shots. What other team in the NFL would have a 2nd round rookie in the lineup that has 8 TD and 20 INTs? Hasn't thrown a TD in 6 games and has multiple turnovers in 9?

I don't understand it-- there is a lot of football knowledge on the sideline an din the organization and it feels like Geno's dad bought the uniforms for the team so he has to play.

The same ones that continue to let Mark Sanchez continue to play last year and throw the season away with this turnovers. Rex did the same thing last year so it dont know why thats of any surprise...

McElroy got a shot after Sanchez had so many problems and he sucked too. Every QB that gets inserted will suck until the Jets get some talent in the rest of the O that's better than some college teams.

McElroy was so impressive he was sacked 10 times and broke his head. That just made the fact that Sanchez was able to create 6 wins on that team more impressive. It was non stop hot reads all season to no name receivers each week.

Yeah, I'll get over myself. We get it - you don't like Smith; but that still doesn't mean the receivers are decent or the line is protecting him. I agree with the head coach, you don't - too bad.

"Ryan also noted that Smith's teammates are a big part of the problem. The offensive line has been terrible the last few weeks, and Smith has one of the worst collections of weapons in the entire league." - NFL.com

he will play into the 3rd. Ryan pulls him before that and he will look bad. Expect him gone with 7 min to go in the third with the Jets down 17.

How did Sanchez "create" 6 wins? He singlehandedly tried to blow the Arizona game and the only reason we won we because the defense and McElroy came in. He threw for a whopping 82 yards in the Indy win. 111 in the Jacksonville game as well. His only good games last year were the Bills first game and the Rams game. You need to seriously stop with this riduculous Sanchez obsession. Ive never seen someone blow him as much as you do.

Team wins the QB gets credit - they lose same thing.
the 2012 sucked all around ... top to bottom that team was awful - had no business being 6-10. It was a mess from the Tebow signing, the Sporano hire, ESPN being at camp to cover Tebow - a mess.

Nothing worked well -- no one stood out last season on offense from top to bottom. The offensive system wasn't even college level. I don't think any QB coul dhave run that offensive system, with the skill players, and been successful.

I just want to see this team win after 30+ years. Geno is not and will never be the guy. They can draft another QB early and once again avoid upgrading skill positions or they look to bring in someone to compete. Who would you bring in? Jay Cutler - way too much money and we don't have Marshall, Jeffrey, and Forte. Matt Moore -- seriously? Schaub -- washed up and replaced by an undrafted rookie that has been pulled already and it is still starting ahead of him.

They said Geno wasn't ready when season started. That is still the case. Problem is we don't have a starting qb so they have to play him.

Simms may/may not do better. I mean Geno did throw a total of 7 yards in the air in one win. Cribbs threw 26 yards in air. Plays well against bad defenses. Has zero weapons as did Mark (Maybe less for mark cause gates was his #1 for a while)

Bottom line, there really is no solution unfortunately

I would rather see an unknown in Simms who has shown a lot of positives than a known in Smith who has imploded.

If the front office has so little faith in Simms then they really screwed the pooch by messing with him and Gerrard instead of investing in reliable backup quarterback. I think Parcells got caught in this same trap when Vinny went down. Backup QB was considered an unnecessary luxury when the spot could be used to fit another special teamer on the roster.

What makes you think they have so little faith in Simms? They may be protecting him for a reason.

If they decide Geno and Sanchez aren't the answer we might be drafting a QB next year. They might want to actually develop him by letting him sit for a year. Simms may well be the starting QB next year.

Simms starting next year and not giving him any reps this year is pointless.

Disagree. He gets a full TC with some new hopefully real talent to work with. It's asking a lot for him to come in right now and accomplish anything significantly better then we are getting. The Jets have a bottom 2 O regardless of the QB.
