You know how you make it hard on your defense - 3&outs, turnovers, and 1/12 on 3rd down conversions. You keep trotting your defense onto the field every 2 minutes you eventually will get burned. I don;'t think Smith completed 2 passes in a row -- that makes 2 weeks in a row he failed to do that. The defense after seeing this eventually will lose focus and just get angry at their offense. The defense is giving up a big play but even if they don't 6 points can beat the jets
not if the defense is as good as their press clippings would have everyone believe In the last two weeks, against the likes of Manuel and Flacco, as far as pass rush goes, the Sons of Anarchy have been the Sons of Invisible and the defensive backs have been worse.... we all saw the plays where Flacco finally gets hit and lobs a floater downfield that takes about 3 seconds to get down where a receiver makes the catch as two befuddled and confused defensive backs stand there and watch it happen making no play on the ball and, of course, the two where 82 makes fingertip catches covered by two defenders, neither of them who even make an attempt to close on the ball or knock it down... sorry, you can blame the QB all you want... but an analysis that declares that the defense was great against the pass and deserves some sort of sympathy for the offense losing the game is, in my opinion, just another example of the braindead media in action
Agreed, can't stand it. Anybody that's ok with losing to the Dolphins for a "better" crapshoot pick is out of their mind.
Or not really a Jets fan, which is something we have an outbreak of on this board at this time. Never have so many trolls been in play at the same time.
After the first few picks it's basically a roll of the dice until the mid-late 2nd round. Honestly unless we have a shot at #1 - #3 draft order doesn't really matter. Look at last years draft? 3 picks in the top 40 picks and two are absolute garbage. No way I want to lose to the Dolphins so I can pick 8th instead of 10th.
I want Simms to lead us to a win over the Dolphins, so we need Rex to bench Smith sooner rather than later.
Regarding your comment on the DL ... Against Buffalo - yes. Against Baltimore ... WTH were you watching? Flacco was running for his life all game. I think we had 5 sacks, and there was another one taken away on a BS call against Wilk. The line had an awful game in Buffalo, but the previous game against the Saints, and last week against Baltimore they were all over the QB. They should eat Miami's beat up OL for lunch on Sunday. The secondary has been awful all year, and would look even worse than it does, if not for all the good work being done up front.
