Because the coach is an idiot. It was proven in the summer and especially now how bone headed of a call it was. Sent from my LG-LS720 using Tapatalk
If he was, why did the Bills pick someone else and why didn't some other team scoop him up? The best QB prospect by many was Glennon and he is proving them right. Glennon has played in eight games with 6 starts and has completed 168 passes with a 62.5 %, 13 TDs and only 4 Ints and a rating of 91.6. Yep I guess Geno was the best prospect....
By whom? Lots of the "experts" were saying (which many posters here bought into) that Geno was THE NUMBER ONE OVERALL PICK after 3 weeks of the NCAA season last year. After he had torched James Madison (yeah, who knew James Madison had a football team), Marshall and Baylor. And when the REAL football started, he was merely really good but not anywhere near the world beater that he looked like against inferior talent. He was never going to be the number 1 pick, not a first rounder. None of them should have been, it was a really shitty year for QBs in the 2013 draft. _
You are right; there is no way it can be proven. That's why my sentence began with "I don't believe". So all you see is the o-line giving pressure and WRs not making plays, but somehow Geno holding on to the ball too long and locking on to one receiver escapes your line of vision?
Your blind Sanchez hate and/or Geno worship is causing you to miss that the weapons, o-line, game planning and play calling are better this year. It is also causing you to lash out at other fellow Jets fans.
336 asked where the improvements are in the OL and playmakers. Just repeating they're better doesn't cut it.
If Sanchez was so good the Jets never draft Geno and there would be no competition which means Sanchez never plays in the 4th quarter of a meaningless preseason game. The fact that they put Sanchez in, shows you what they thought about him. I have no idea why Buffalo picked EJ over Geno. But Geno was considered the best QB in the draft and a first round pick. Different analysts. You want me to post some for you? My point is that Sanchez supporters felt that he needed good weapons and a stout oline. Yet the oline has struggled and the receivers aren't good right now. I've made it known on here that Geno sucks but it doesn't change the fact that other things around him isn't good either.
For the one millionth time Geno played like absolute crap in the final real preseason game. There was no need in putting Sanchez in. Sent from my LG-LS720 using Tapatalk
Post as many as you want. They are all talking heads and their opinions have no bearing on reality. There are only 32 analysts that matter. They are called NFL GENERAL MANAGERS. _
My theory was that Rex wanted to give Geno some decent reps, and Rex put Mark in because he wanted to give Sanchez a series to show that he's the better QB, while also giving him extra reps in the system. It obviously backfired. You also have to think that if Rex felt Sanchez earned the job. He wouldn't have put him in.
Idzik was spotted a few weeks ago at an Oregon Ducks game and the speculation was that he was scouting Mariotta. The idea of breaking in a new rookie Qb (and maybe making Rex a true lame duck--his contract is through the end of next season) is not something that I think this team has to do. We should have signed a decent FA vet Qb like a Matt Moore who is sitting on the bench in Miami and I'm sure he'd rather be here starting for the Jets. Or a Matt Hasselbeck who isn't playing in Indy even though he has the credentials to be a starter. These guys are comparable to Alex Smith at least Hasselbeck is and can you imagine the improved offense we would have with them as starter and Geno holding a clipboard. But to me this is not a developmental league. And some rookie Qbs like Glennon are playing much better than Geno is. So if the Jets want to make the playoffs don't worry about Geno's feelings. He's earned the bench. Personally I'd start Garrard with Simms as backup nezt week. If Geno has the mettle he'll learn from it esp that you can't play poorly and turn over the ball and expect to keep the starters position. To me your best chance to win this week is David Garrard. But I'd still like to see what Matt can do too.
The Jets took a low risk high reward move. If it doesn't workout they can cut ties and it won't hurt the Jets at all. It really isn't that serious. The Jets have plenty of options. They can draft a QB, sign a free agent, bring back Sanchez , or roll the dice with Geno again.
That's not what you said. You changed your own narrative. You said he was the highest rated QB. So if you believe the analysts who know nothing, then you HAVE to believe the very same analysts that said this was an AWFUL QB class. Yip-dee-dam-do. We got the best QB in a shitty class. We're dating the skinniest chick at the fat farm. And next year there are Playboy models entering the draft. Yeah, lets go draft some playmakers to surround the chubby chick. And ignore the super-models. _
According to those analysts Geno was the best QB in the draft. He ended up slipping. We got him in round 2, we don't have the same investment with him as we did with Mark. We can cut ties with no problem.
He NEVER slipped. The analysts knew nothing. He is and always was a 2nd round pick. But I agree we don't have the investment which is why we have to use our pick on a QB. _
http://www.profootballweekly.com/2013/04/01/barkley-smith-scouting-reports I remember when Nolan Nawrocki got bashed for this scouting report on Geno before the draft, after watching Geno for 11 games, I agree with most of what he said.
