Will a new CS/front office have some money to spend around? They'll finally have draft picks minus this year's 1st round pick the Rams are thanking because of the trade as the Rams once again can restock up on the young nucleus they have going on there.

Rams thank DC for a top 10 pick.

A lot of posts discussing a 2nd round pick that really didn't cost us that much. Why didn't you guys talk this much about Kellen Clemens?

I'm all for letting Geno ride the pine, think about what he's done so far, and learn from the sideline and in practice. But anyone proclaiming Geno to be a bust after 11 games needs to get his head checked. 11 games. You guys gave Sanchez FOUR YEARS! Now, Sanchez was completely mismanaged, because he should have never started that long. But you have to find a middle ground here.

To say Geno is not the guy after 11 games is short-sighted. He might not be the guy. He hasn't improved. But it's still a very small sample size and the game clearly hasn't slowed down for him yet.

At this point in time, I would say give Simms a shot and see what he's made of. That'll benefit Geno who has hit a rookie wall and needs to learn from his mistakes in practice. It's better than just throwing him out there again and seeing what sticks. I'd rather he prepare for a career, improving his reads and his mechanics, rather than focusing on gameplans as much as he has to as the starting QB. It'll also benefit the Jets in seeing if Simms has starter potential or at least solid backup potential. But benching a rookie doesn't mean it's the end, but gives him a chance to take a step back and learn. If he doesn't, then he was a failed 2nd round draft pick in a rebuilding year. Happens all the time.

Lastly, for those of you proclaiming that Geno is a bust already, I would HATE to see how you guys would be treating Andrew Luck, RGIII, or last year's Cam Newton, and those are/were their 2nd years!

Coming off the season Sanchez had we had to make a change. Geno was the best QB prospect available. So far he's struggling, but the book isn't finished on Geno yet. But we had to make a change and if Geno doesn't pan out then we replace him as well.

Time for a new scouting department. Terry Bradway should have been fired at least half-decade ago. How he's survived so many terrible picks I'll never know.

It's clear Idzik is a mere figure head, a hood ornament.

After last year they needed to replace the OC, lose tebow , get back injured players, and improve skill positions . They drafted a qb and didn't improve skill positions. Now you out Sanchez in behind this Oline, with these running backs, healthy receivers... You never know what would have happened ed this season z

Geno is looking worse each week and this week not only looked poor he looked like the coaching staff no longer believes in him .

This might be the 9th wonder of the world... How Bradway managed to keep his job along with the scouting dept that might spend too much time at Dave and Busters along with Rex on occasion.

We need a new approach to just about everything regarding this franchise. Idzik would be wise to clean house or something close to it.

If I'm not mistaken, Idzik has already replaced 2 or 3 members from the scouting department and brought in his own. And while we don't like bradway we have Wilkerson, Richardson, Coples.

Lets not be one sided in the scouting department argument.

I'm not saying he should keep his job, but it has not been all bad, and he did want Russell Wilson and he was vetoed.

Even a stopped clock is right twice a day. Take out the guys you mentioned and the grade drops off in reference to the scouting dept and Terry Badway. We need to go in a new direction and Idzik should have been allowed to completely clean house and yeah, that includes the present HC of the NYJ's.

Should we go after Jay Cutler and draft offensive weapons?

Sanchez was part of the problem too. If Sanchez struggled playing with an inconsistent oline and bad weapons last year, then I can't say he'd be any better this year. As bad as Geno has been he has the benefit of being a rookie with room to improve.
If Geno keeps up his shit play then I'd go after Cutler. Let Geno sit until we get rid of the vet QB.

    I don't see it happening.
    Smith is Idzik's pick.
To make the switch would be an embarrassment to the first time GM.
The Jets are going to have ride this one out.
They (Woody and Idzik) made this mess, now they (along with Ryan, players and the fans) are going to have to ride this out.

I still don't understand how an organization puts so much of its season on a rookie QB and give him nothing to work with.

I'm sorry, but I haven't seen any evidence to say Idzik has this team on the right path. Richardson..great pick. Milliner and Smith..eh..not so much.

Let;s give the guy another season before we start passing out judgement.

The o-line, weapons, game planning and play calling are A LOT better this year than last year. Then add the fact that Geno is locking on to WRs and holding on to the ball too long. Based on that, I don't believe we would have those issues with Sanchez in this offense.

    Smoke crack much?????

Really it's a whole bunch of the same.
Please fill us all in on where the great upgrade in weapons and Oline are.
The play calling has been pretty shitty as well, a few good games but all in all MM has been a let down.

That means comparing Sparano to MM.

    Sanchez> Cutler.

I don't play the woulda, coulda, shoulda game. How do you know Sanchez would've been any better? Can you prove it? I can only go by what I've seen from Sanchez thus far in his career. The oline is giving up pressure, the receivers aren't making plays when they're thrown the ball. These are the very things Sanchez supporters complained about.

He has no choice but to go back to Sanchez next year, and let Geno Grow.

Consider, rex has Woody's ear, and the "if only factor" will loom large in the off season.

Thats basic politics. Idzik will not want to be a eunuch. And so far Milliner and Smith, are making him look pretty bad, especially because they had no business forcing Geno into a bad spot.

But hey, I bet that Snoopy trophy looks good in Florham Park.

And before people draw the daggers on me, go all the way back to Pittsburgh, and tell me, that the pass attempts tell you the staff has faith in Smith.

May I say Mike Glennon completed 14 of 21 for 247 yards and 2 TDs. Best of all no turn overs. Smith was far from the best prospect on the board. Geno has started five more games and had all off season to prepare to start and he sucks compared to Glennon.

Sanchez is better than Cutler. Yet the coach put his "starting" QB in the 4th quarter of a meaningless preseason game. Meanwhile Cutler was sitting on the sidelines watching the game. But of course Sanchez is "better".
